Pacific General and Fantasy General, the accessible, Panzer-like grand strategy classics, are available now DRM-free on GOG.com!

Pacific General, available for Windows, is a spiritual sequel from the studio behind the acclaimed Panzer General series - an improvement over the classic, but one that retains the same feel and concepts as its inspiration. Once more we return to the overhead battlefields of World War II in a series of quick-play scenarios and full-blown campaigns: everything from Pearl Harbor to hypothetical invasion scenarios is here, all packaged in a relatively newbie-friendly grand-strategy package. Fantasy General takes that same experience and sets it in a fantasy universe. This one's for you if you're a fan of large-scale hex-based battlefields and steampunk-infused fantasy. Fantasy General is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Pacific General and Fantasy General are being published by GOG.com. We are happy to release these titles not on behalf of another party, but by acting as the sole publisher for the very first time!

Unleash your inner armchair general with Pacific General and Fantasy General, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Veloxi: Hey GOG guys, I might be a horrible skimmer and a pedant, but in the description of Fantasy General it says,

"Fantasy General is the second installment in Strategic Simulations’ Five Star General Series..."

That's actually not true. It's the third installment. The second was Allied General. The order of the original five, I believe is:

Panzer General
Allied General
Fantasy General
Star General
Pacific General

Just wanted to let y'all know. :)
That's the correct order indeed.

The final ones :

People's General
Panzer General 3D Assault
Panzer General Scorched Earth

Someone asked for Steel Panthers. That IP went back to Gary Grisby and that means GOG treating with his Matrix Games company (that's a sure thing)

Something that could be brought here it's the original Silent Hunter game, which is owned by Ubi. SH3/4/5 were developed by Ubisoft Romania, so they are not SSI.

Buck Rogers rights are probably marred in legal swamps, so...it will take a long time to see them, IF possible.

D'n'D games developed by SSi, probably more Hasbro negotiations.

Star Command - legal hell, as it's based on an licensed IP

War Wind's series fate - unknown

Su27 Flanker games might be back at Eagle Dynamics (the dudes behind Lock On series)

Dark Colony - unknown (Ubi or Take Two as possible suspects)

Panzer Commander/Lufteaffe Commander - fate unknown

Feel free to complete and maybe our legal hunters can have some starting point to see who owns what.

You know the reason I created an account here? I was looking for Panzer General 2 and gog had it in catalogue. Again you proved it was a good choice.

As a big fan of PG series there is nothing more to say, besides: THANK YOU GOG
Hadn't bought any games on gog since the website revamp, have bought three games through the Galaxy client since yesterday ! ... Galaxy is a dream come true for me with gog .. I can just run Galaxy now and totally bypass the the website which I have hated since the revamp.

Great work guys I love Galaxy so far and am really excited to see how it develops in the coming months.

Still think you should bring back the old website though ! :p

Oh ... and can we have a gog wallet now too ? ^_^ :p

Bought that game about 2.5 years ago remembering it from the 90s having always wanted to play it and not had the chance back then. Just got around to playing it about 3 weeks ago and had some fun with it. :) Old strategy games can be a lot of fun. :)

Donners1: Wow, I hope this is something GOG can do again in the future.

If Star Trek: Judgment Rites gets put up, I'll buy ten copies (dead serious - I'll do a giveaway).
Answer is: GOG can, did.

They obviously heard your wish.

One day before the game actually came. Judas must have chuckled for at least one hour. :)

Well, isn't that awkward (yet awesome).

Guess I'll have to live up to my vow - albeit by holding out for a sale.
