Dray2k Probably the first "modern" video game by gameplay standards. Widely known as the first game that effectively synergized all the good things that made RPG and RTS great together into one unique subgenre, later popularized by Blizzard with its Warcraft III in slightly different ways.
Every units was an individual rather than "just a unit". The player could use them to pick up items, use these items, or collect and give them to another more important one to gain passive buffs or mission critical items. You could build bases and control units like in every RTS, yet you had to carefully control them and take care of them like you would do in the game Dungeon Master. Think of it as the prototype of the game Cultures.
The only major downside I can think of is that its "rough" both in difficulty and coherence. The UI didn't make a whole lot of sense, the gameplay felt needlessly complicated for what it was worth and the Menue was mediocre. The game itself made up for it regardless.
I believe that everyone should at least play this game once as this one is truely an important piece of video game history and a good one at that.

antspants01 I actually made a wish for this the other day and didn't realise others wanted it too! I'm not sure if this is what I remember playing as a demo on a Windows 95 disc as a kid but I was fascinated by this game.

Star_Sage Would love to play these games again. The WW series is an interesting mix of Strat and Puzzle. While 2 was....not as good, 1 is still a classic.

KristianMiltenof I don't know if its just me, but finding this game in Aus is friggen impossible now a days. So to see this title come to gog would be friggen amazing. Let's make this happen.

F4LL0UT The interface sucks and the universe is quite generic but heck, there was something about it. Definitely deserves to be remembered, as does the sequel.

bultreys I only ever had the demo of this game as a teenager, however I've always remembered as having more character and difficulty and requiring more strategy than other games of the era and I'd love the chance to play it!
