mindlessteef This was a fantastic game... and as much as I enjoyed Firaxis' Stronghold... I always think of this SSI published game first when I see the name "Stronghold". Yes GOG, please do add this title if you can.
The_Anon I actually didn't buy the later Stronghold game because I was pissed at it stealing this gem of a games name.
A little too easy even on omg hard settings when you know what you're doing but I'd still waste hours on it.

baelzeron Please please please add this game, i played it on my grandma's computer for years as a kid and then once I was old enough to get a job i spent 10 YEARS trying to track down a copy for the pc I built only to have it not work with any OS I had installed once I obtained a copy. PLEASE!!!!!

Alastar Stronghold: Kingdom simulator was a fun and fascinating RTS/simulator. You start a game by choosing up to 5 different races/factions. Humans, Thieves, Elves, Mages, Dwarves, Halflings, and clerics (if there are more I don't remember, been since about 2002 when I last played it.) In the custom campaign you can choose the number of enemies, their level, and various other conditions. The enemies can consist of EVERY SINGLE D&D monster you can think of! Anything from bandits to dragons, to Medusa! Each race will build up massive armies, expand their towns, and will lay siege on your city. They are not the ONLY threat though. The seasons effect your food income and you prepare accordingly to make sure you have enough food for the winter. upgrade storage, claim forests, build farms, and more to increase the food income. The game was very interesting, fun and was a childhood favorite. I most definitely recommend that this game be added to GOG and hope the GOG team will consider adding it.

zumbertinho Please guys, add this game to the site! It would be a 'compulsory purchase' for me, the moment it got out! This is a moderately hard but highly addictive game, specially when you get the hang of it, and the D&D system gives a nice touch to it. I hate when I say "Stronghold" and people think I'm talking about the 'other' Stronghold, this one is the original one, always! <3
aspower This was a favorite of mine. Truly unique at the time. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure anything else was ever similar.

gromulos I am one of the few fortunate people to not only still have the original floppy disks, but to also have a USB floppy drive lol, I love playing this game to this day :)

djfailsafe It was something familiar, yet totally different from sim games in general, and it was awesome leveling up warriors then sending them out to kill a den of evil. This game was just great.
jcalton Go to ReplacementDocs for the manual and reference card. Also GameFAQs has a mini guide. It's not as extensive as some I've seen (e.g., Master of Magic) but it's better than nothing.
jcalton I would love to see this, as well. They appear to have it at Abandonia. People could check it out there, for review purposes. I'm telling you guys, you will not be disappointed.
evercrow The game of my childhood.Really want this. Some of battles there could still look epic even compared to the modern games.Nothing beats satisfaction of having your carefully grown race of battle mages or dwarves perform extermination raids on monster lairs across the globe.
