i remember loving this very hard sequel to gateway to the savage frontier.
i remember how important dialogue was in the manual along with drawings, and that finding your way out of the first town that you start in is such a hardcore, difficult d&d experience. i remember the satisfaction of finally seeing the world map, and being able to traverse it in search of the larger adventure of the northern lands, the so called, savage frontier. i remember needing frequent saving, and needing to grind for gold so you can level as soon as possible after you meet the experience requirements. i would highly recommend this game because, you can import characters from gateway to the savage frontier, and continue the story of the northern lands, and because it is a well made entry in the tsr dungeons and dragons series.
