Wizard's Crown completed
As A teen seemed like I waited forever for part 2 to come out, The Eternal Dagger. With no money on release day it was pouring rain, I walked three miles with a trash bag wrapped copy of Karateka (fun but to short). The salesmen was laughing as I dripped a puddle on the floor and he cautioned me to bring a receipt next time.
I remember reading an article at some time, SSI had gotten AD&D rights GOLD box was coming but don't worry they will not abandon past series, I had strong doubts.
My party is still waiting abandoned on the demon world after finishing The Eternal Dagger...
I just bought an original copy off ebay for my c64 (yes i still have one) Gonna boot it up over the holiday!!! YAY!!!
one of my favorite games of all time. Laughable graphics but deep and challenging turn based play.
Such an amazing, addictive game. GFX were nothing special, but it was the 80s. Definitely one of the most difficult games I've ever had the pleasure of beating.
I have to agree. It wasn't the flashiest of games but it was addictive for sure. For some reason I couldn't finish Eternal Dagger. I had to have missed something. I hope that GOG brings them to the fold so I can renew the obsession.
Sad to see so few votes for what is possibly the first turn-based fantasy rpg. Its combat system is challenging and very highly detailed even compared to any modern turn-based strategy game. It's an immediate purchase for me if it shows up on gog.
Would love to see. It's the Gold Box precursor!
Nice to see I'm not the only one who 1st sharpened their rpg blade on this excellent series. This is the game that introduced me to pc gaming & I,ve been hooked for over 30 yrs now.....
Probably the father of all turn-based RPGs. I thank God to let my c64 up to 1994, just for playing this game.
I learned how to emulate a c64 on my pc specifically to go through this and the eternal dagger a couple years ago. Would love to be able to play them with a bit (okay, a lot) less hassle.
Outstanding classic groundbreaking game! Would love to play this again one day!
This game was the game that SSI later developed into the legendary gold box games... it's a must
I used to love this game. Hope it is added one day!
