Breja: Really, my biggest hope for this movie is that Blizzard will re-release the first two Warcraft games to coincide with it's premiere.

Elenarie: WoW Legion is coming out together with the movie. Not the old games. Makes no business sense.
Hey Elenarie why is it that hardcore raiders in wow makes their UI's so cluttered?

I mean for goodness' sake I can barely see what is going on in the game.

Not even the most old school RPGs in the DOS era had a UI this cluttered.

These Raiders just reduced the game to numbers and statistics. Taking out the humanity and visual experiacne. They might aswell be playing on just pieces of Paper with Numbers.

Beause you are using a 6 years old picture? UIs are much cleaner nowadays. Check out method's videos for Hellfire Bosses, for example.

Can you explain why raid interfaces were so cluttered back then?

I mean the UI reminded me of how cluttered Everquest 1's basic interface is. (How can people play that game today?)

I dunno. :) I've always raided with the standard UI. It makes be a better player because I am aware of what is happening around me, instead of waiting for something to tell me to do something.

There is a recurring joke at people uses such messy interfaces for raiding:

"GET OUT OF THE FIRE!!!"

""What Fire?"

That is true for normal players as well.
Well, the full trailer is out... and there is no way around it. It looks bad. Just plain bad. The CGI is even worse then I thought for the most part, and they don't seem to be following the story of the games too closely after all. And before someone calls me a Blizzard hater- I really wanted this to be good. Hell, I still do. I love fantasy, I like Warcraft (or at least I used to, back in the RTS days). I have no ill will towards this movie. But this just looks very bad. I'm afraid the video game movie curse is strong with this one.

As I've said two years ago: They should have made it 100% CGI and should have used the same animators they used for their games in addition to some good director and not make it some half-breed with bad actors.

The lore of Warcraft is great enough, there was no need for these 0815 hollywood plot alterations.

It can't be worse than anything from Uwe Boll though and all the WoW-players from the last decade will watch it anyway.
I hate it when they don't even need to try to make something become a blockbuster.

Look at this cast...

You wish the movie looks more like this?

Looking at the trailer, I have to say I agree. It looks like a trailer for a game, not a movie, and the live-action actors seem totally misplaced.

No, not at all. CG is great, if done well. This is not done well.

I think it's done well, real actors just don't fit in the style of the Warcraft universe and wouldn't fit in Diablo or Starcraft either.

The problem isn't the CG itself. The problem is that it has quite blatantly been filmed predominantly for 3D and the lighting and CG were designed on that basis - objects have high-contrast outlines and intense colours to eliminate cross-talk and compensate for the darkening effect of 3D glasses. The majority of 3D films have this problem - Avatar, Hugo, Life of Pi, and most of the 3D Marvel films.

So the majority of us who choose not to subject ourselves to the torture of 3D (or have to forego going to the cinema because the cinema refuses to show anything but 3D versions) have to suffer for the idiots that actually think they're watching real 3D.
