TARFU: I'd say FF: The Spirits Within is the best of the lot.
rtcvb32: I'll have to agree. But it was Square Enix who made the game based loosely on their own series, and as each game has it's own plot/system/story it wasn't hard to come up with something they wanted to show off that sorta was between FF7 and FF13 (
or the tech involved).
But i think maybe Spirits Within was more so they could show off what CGI could do, as well as test their own limits; Along with maybe transitioning to a different software/rendering package for prerendered cutscenes...
I agree. Spirits Within was an experiment in CGI animation, using a recognizable franchise name (Final Fantasy) to get people into the theater.
But no matter, it's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. I think some folks were just upset because they felt like the "Final Fantasy" title had misled them and that it was some kind of bait and switch.
