You've got mail!

Browsing catalogs, tracking sales, ain't nobody got time for that.
Well, you finally don't need to - we'll email you when a game on your wishlist goes on sale.

Starting this weekend, when a GOG.com game (or games) on your wishlist gets a discount, you'll receive an automatic email notification with a quick way to jump straight to the product page. Nice and convenient.
If you don't want to receive these notifications, you can always unsubscribe directly through the first email you receive, or by heading to Account > Orders & Settings > and changing your Subscriptions settings.

We're still in the early days of rolling out the feature, so we'll continue iterating and nailing down the details and functionality - but with nearly 13,000 votes for the option on our Community Wishlist, we sure hope it comes in handy!
This is great!! It would be extremely awesome if the email included the current price cut as well :)
Thanks for the feature!!
Just like Steam. GOG is taking all the good things from Steam and leaving the bad. Hmmmmm
Is the 'Searching for me' option (in the 'FRIENDS & CHAT' part of account settings) a feature that will be exclusive to Galaxy?

Could you make separate checkboxes for search by username and e-mail?

IAmSinistar: Nice. Hopefully the emails are more timely than the ones on the sales, which come anywhere from 6 to 36 hours after the event. Not going to help me much if I get informed of a wishlist reduction after it's already lapsed. :)
Second that.
In principle a great idea/concept.Just hope it works out timely enough!

mrkgnao: Just got my email. Seems nice, but partly incorrect.

According to MaGog, there are three items on my wishlist that are currently on sale:
- Braveland Pirate
- Hard West Collector's Edition [Premium] [Upcoming]
- Pillars of Eternity: Royal Edition [Premium]

The email mentions only the first two.

Still, I appreciate the initiative.
It's not meant to be a complete listing. In the message I was sent (mere minutes after I unsubscribed), the following appeared in the small print near the bottom:
These emails are sent out periodically, we'll only notify you about discounts with 24+ hours remaining. Your personal wishlist may include more games on sale. [emphasis is mine]
There were only two games mentioned in my e-mail, too, so I guess that's standard.
I would rather have a notification flag on my account (similar to update notifications) on the website or via Galaxy. I check GoG daily, not-so-much with my already spam-ridden email (yeah, I suck). At least the option would be nice :)

Nice step in the right direction, though.
Okay in light of other world news I am really in a shit mood right now, and I can't go to sleep feeling that way, so I need to close out my time here tonight on a bright spot, and it's regarding this thread.

I've been in touch with several people over and GOG and while we all agree that this notification system is a step in the right direction, it still isn't quite enough.

Therefore, starting tomorrow morning, whenever a game on your wishlist gets discounted, you will no longer receive an email, but rather, you will receive a phone call from me! :D

It's the least I can do for all my friends!

Finally... I don't have to keep checking my wishlist to see if anything's on sale anymore.

songoqu: Huan sorry for that, unsubscribe option works but with some delay. Next time you won't get any email from it
Sorry if it sounded too harsh or pissed, I meant neither. I can deal with one more spam message, just wanted to let you know how it looks from my end. If it works next time, even better. Good work, even if this feature is not for me.

If that be the case, I'll take the email XD
Excellent. I do tend to come the site once a day. But then again I catch new sales that way.

Next feature. Mark off a game as owned. Due to different versions and the way you handle them I still almost buy something I own several times each sale (have to stop myself, though I think in some instances it may warn on checkout).

Thanks for clarifying.
I wish GOG would realise that its user base includes old geezers who are no longer able to read characters composed of two-and-half pixels.
Yay! Even more ways to reduce my willpower to buy more games and build my back log. =\

But really, great job. Hoping to get more features out soon.
This feature would have been useful if it had some parameters to configure it, like, "Send me an email when games on my wishlist are discounted by at least X%". Otherwise you would get an email every 5 mins cos there's always some minor semi-permanent discount somewhere.

Also, epic fail on turning this feature ON by default for all users!

GOG should focus less on self promotion and marketing and maybe a little more on actually useful site features .. like ... umm .. search?? Kinda sad I still have to use Google to search via the GOG catalog because GOG search is so nerfed!

good feature but still a little work to do.
in my wishlist there are 2 games that I will only buy when they will have an 80% discount... I will receive lots of mail before that (pillars of eternity and the witcher 3, they are really overpriced, I will pay max 20€ for the witcher 3 and 15€ for pillars of eternity (with all dlc espansions)).
