You've got mail!

Browsing catalogs, tracking sales, ain't nobody got time for that.
Well, you finally don't need to - we'll email you when a game on your wishlist goes on sale.

Starting this weekend, when a GOG.com game (or games) on your wishlist gets a discount, you'll receive an automatic email notification with a quick way to jump straight to the product page. Nice and convenient.
If you don't want to receive these notifications, you can always unsubscribe directly through the first email you receive, or by heading to Account > Orders & Settings > and changing your Subscriptions settings.

We're still in the early days of rolling out the feature, so we'll continue iterating and nailing down the details and functionality - but with nearly 13,000 votes for the option on our Community Wishlist, we sure hope it comes in handy!

huan: Thanks for giving us the option to unsubscribe. Next step - please make sure that the option works. I don't have it ticked, didn't have it ticked when I first looked at the settings today, it says UNSUBSCRIBED next to it, and I got the email anyway. And from quick glance at the thread, I was lucky that I only got one.
Considering the contents of the email I got, there does seem to be a delay between "queue this mail" and "send this mail". The option should be checked on send time as well though, which seems like it currently isn't.

Huan sorry for that, unsubscribe option works but with some delay. Next time you won't get any email from it

Is there a way we could get a Notification on the Account button as well?
thanks for implementing this
Awesome!
Thank you GOG. This is something I have wanted for some time.
BUT you know what would have made this perfect? It would have been perfect if you have made the introduction of this option Opt-In not Opt-Out. I wanted this so I Would have been very happy to check a box to start new email notifications. However, if I had not wanted to change my relationship with GOG by receiving these emails why should I be forced to take action to stop them. I know it seems silly for me to complain when in my case you have saved me the trouble of clicking a box, but doing things this way is disrespectful to your customers.
I know everyone on the Internet does things this way, but what I really like about GOG is that on some level you seem to know that how everyone else does things is wrong.
So please in the future when you make optional changes to the customer experience introduce them as Opt-In not Opt-out.
Awesome! I've wanted this feature for a long time, as I don't always have time to try to track sales down. Thanks GOG!

Vythonaut: This should prove very useful for the folks that don't check out gog.com regularly. Wishlist should have worked like this from day 1, but better late than never. Nice GOG! :)

I hope that forum security will be next on your agenda!
^This.
Just got my email. Seems nice, but partly incorrect.

According to MaGog, there are three items on my wishlist that are currently on sale:
- Braveland Pirate
- Hard West Collector's Edition [Premium] [Upcoming]
- Pillars of Eternity: Royal Edition [Premium]

The email mentions only the first two.

Still, I appreciate the initiative.

I have a question: is it possible to have these official emails be un-spoofable, or at least difficult to spoof?

I would imagine that as soon as you start sending yours, others will start sending their own that look like yours.
(It could be an easy way to phish GoG login accounts.)

Would it be possible (or effective) to pre-release the account that you will send from, in order that we can add an exception to any message rules we (the GoG members) may have in place?

As it is, my Inbox sends anything that is not in my contacts list, into the spam folder, and that can have a thousand entries to sift.

The email is sent from:
do_not_reply@gog.com
Thanks for listening! I love it! :D
Seriously sweet idea! Thanks Gog.com!
Jeez, I read it as "discontinued" in the mail and got really afraid :D

Oh man! I can't imagine that, getting an email telling me everything on my wishlist is being discontinued. :D I bet your poor heart skipped a beat.
