reaver894: Saw this about 2 weeks ago.

Overall it was a good film BUT... It wasnt Mad Max for me, if they had just called it Fury Road and changed the name away from Max, I would have been happy.
But it was missing something for me for it to be a proper Mad Max film
As this has been ressurected, you might want to dig into the trivia a bit - its not a reboot, its less a sequel, its more a spin off following the timeline.

Have you questioned why max is so damned young, yet its evidently 30 years at least since shit went down in the world? - theres a reason regarding that, that hes sort of a secondary character (that follows millers formula for the preceeding films) - well, that and a whole lot more other gubbins!

The way the film is designed is not relevant to me in this situation. As far as im concerned the only reason they Slapped Mad Max onto it was for box office sales.
Any other name and OK fair enough but for a mad max film I was disappointed.

"They" being the director, who also directed all the previous movies and created the character. And he "slapped Mad Max onto it" becuase it's the sequel he was working on almost since the Thunder Dome, not some lately conceived money grab.

And IMO "they" fucked it up, did not feel like a mad max film to me in the slightest. Thats my opinion and if you dont like it or dont agree thats your problem. You will not make me change the way I feel about it.

I felt the same at first... but then I read a few bits of trivia etc, rewatched it and it grew on me rather a lot.

Still, I do understand why you dont want to do that.

I'm not trying to change your opinion of how the movie feels, I'm just pointing out that you are wrong saying that "Mad Max" was slapped onto it as a cash grab. If you feel that it's not what you wanted, that's fine. I disagree strongly, but that's not the point.
6 entirely arbitrary movie awards!
Yay?!

I'm mostly pretty good with that. I've had Spectre on my playlist since it came out.

Well I liked the movie and it seems other people also liked the movie, so yay is in order I guess. Given most of those awards were for technical representation, we might see some more movies return to practical effects, altho... I kinda doubt it.

I love the movie, just find it hard to care about awards. ;P
