CowboyBebop: My connection is too slow for these ninja giveaways. And some of the Ultima games have been on my wishlist for a while :) Thanks for your generosity and congrats to the redeemers.

gameon: hmm, was that made by you cowboy bebop?

If so, thanks very much for magic carpet :)
Yes, it appears that CowboyBebop was one sneaky gifter! +1!

AFnord: No, Desura is not like Steam, there is one pretty major difference between the two.
With Steam, (almost) all games that you download will have to be played through steam, with steam active at all time. With Desura, that is not the case, the games are not linked to Desura, and you can run them on their own, without starting Desura. With Steam, the client is a form of DRM, while with Desura, the client is just there for convenience (and they are working on direct download from the site for all games, so you won't have to use the client).
Cool!, thanks for the clarification. Maybe I will create a Desura account soon. One question though, do you still need the Desura client installed in your computer to buy and install the games?

You don't, as there is option for standalone downloads.
Oh and speaking of being sneaky I hid a code on this thread some time ago and nobody has redeemed it yet. Happy hunting :)

For the moment, yes, though hopefully they will be done with their website overhaul soon, so that all games can be downloaded directly (or they might already be done with it, I've not checked their site in a while, I'm quite happy with their client)

Games I checked had option to be downloaded directly. o.O

Last time I checked (which was a while ago), there were still plenty of games that you could not download directly, mainly older ones.

Not a problem. Wasn't pointing fingers or anything. But I wanted to be sure you were thanked and +1'd. :)
Thanks again!
