Good attitude, you shouldn't let yourself be silenced. And things like this toilet decree are so obviously insane, there has to be some pushback.
Parents shouldn't indulge every silly fancy of their children...children need parental guidance.

If that "fancy" is something the child enjoys, and if it is harmless, why not indulge it?

Children need to learn self-restraint...if every silly desire they come up with is immediately satisfied, they'll become spoilt, narcisstic monsters. Excessive egomaniacal individualism can be just as bad as or even worse than excessive collectivism/conformism.

A father can safely enter the men's toilets with his son to protect him from other men until he's old enough to go by himself.

A mother can safely enter the women's toilets with her daughter to protect her from other women until she's old enough to go by herself.

A 14 year old boy has a chance against a grown man. A 14 year old girl DOES NOT. I don't care who they believe they are, the fact of the matter is, women's bodies are built differently from men's bodies & the man's weight advantage is too big for the girl to overcome.

THIS is called REALITY.

IF and WHEN the child grows old enough to CHOOSE - because it's their choice & it's all kinds of fucked up to "encourage" someone who shows no inclination to become transgender to do so - AND decides to transition to whatever they want, THEN that's another matter entirely that should be separated from this particular discussion.

I'm sure there's a way to give trans people - REAL trans people - their rights without taking away the rights of other people.

You are missing the issue of privilege. As (I assume) a cisgender person, you don't have to worry about being denied rights due to your gender identity; transgender people, on the other hand, do.

I sincerely hope you don't have any children; denying the child's right to pursue her interests or to have harmless fun is not healthy for the child.

I agree with zeogold. I understand the OP's concern but that does not mean he can bring emotions into the debate and start throwing insults at those he disagrees with.

Last I checked, legislation is being passed that will allow transgender people to use either bathrooms that they are comfortable with.

No, I don't have children, but I am very active on the upbringing of my nieces & nephew, sometimes moreso than my brother, who gladly defers to my judgement.

I NEVER denied anything to the children, nor have I tried to steer them to do what *I* want, like so many people do. Self-sufficiency means that they get to choose what they want, and also that they have to get it themselves.

On this particular subject I could brag day & night how much of a difference they make from the other cowed, spoiled or timid children, how polite they are to whoever treats them with respect & how they'll easily embarrass on a battle of wits any grown up that tries to make a fool out of them, ever since they were 4.

But again, this is deviating from the topic.

Thank you for the opportunity, but let's get back to the REAL problem, shall we? The possibility that this law will help paedophiles & rapists a lot more than it will help the 0.3% of the population that has been using their correct toilets even before all this madness.
