Dalthnock: It's very likely that I've talked with more trans people & other minorities than you have, and not just for the trophy claim. I mean real talks abou several issues, including & especially topics other than those pertaining to them.

They're real people with real opinions, you know? They don't need you to speak for them.

Also, please stop sexualizing children. This is exactly what I fear & you're doing it.
avatar
Dalthnock: Look pal, I'm not crusading for anyone. I merely stated they can defend themselves without your help. YOU are the one speaking for them.
Oh yes, yes, yes, I'm sure boasting about your superior credentials with transgenders and minorities makes you far more entitled to be a Social Justice Crusader than I could ever be. I mean, who else could defend transgenders from the cis-gendered straight males who have the utter audacity to support them!? No one else should ever, ever, ever support transgenders! Only transgenders should support transgenders!

Take a deep breath and think about what you are typing.

Or like Ancient Troy!

Oh wait, they found that.

No it's a myth, like the Giant Squid.

Oh wait, they found some of those.

No it's just a legend, like The Valley of the Kings!

Wait, shit. I'm not having any luck here.

dtgreene: What if the little girl has a mental disability that prevents her from showering on her own, the girl's mother is busy or out of the picture, and the middle-aged man happens to be her father, who is taking care of her? (For purposes of this example, assume the father is not abusive.)

jepsen1977: Do you know what the word empathy means? Have you ever just once tried to put yourself in someone else's place and say that maybe, just maybe their feelings are important too? That considering other people's feelings and their point of view might be a thing. That if a 7-year old girl is scared to shower with a 40-year old man who identifies as a woman and still has an erect penis next to the 7-year old girls face in the shower, that it might be a perspective worth listening to. And that listening to that 7-year old girl's concerns is NOT transphobia.

Unlike you I have empathy and I can see the case from both sides. Both kids AND transgender people should be respected and cared for. But your outright dismissal of the little girl's feelings is simply preposterous.
Do you know what the word empathy means? Have you ever just once tried to put yourself in someone else's place and say that maybe, just maybe their feelings are important too? That considering other people's feelings and their point of view might be a thing. That if a 7-year old trans girl is scared to shower with boys and grown men, that it might be a perspective worth listening to. And that requiring her to use the boy's room *is* transphobia (as is referring to that 40-year-old trans woman as a man).

Also, the little girl just needs some (age-appropriate) education about transgender issues, as do you and the OP.

htown1980: We're not talking about showering. We are talking about using a bathroom.

You claim to be concerned about men going to the toilet with girls because men can show girls their junk. Yet you don't seem to be concerned that men going to the toilet will boys will show boys their junk. Why are you not concerned about that?
Public toilets also mean public locker rooms.

And as I stated back in post 144: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/lets_sacrifice_our_children_in_the_name_of_tolerance/post144

"I just don't want it to be legal for a middle-aged man to shower next to an little girl! Hell, they shouldn't even do it in front of little boys, but at least boys know that what they're seeing is just a bigger version of what they have.

It's STILL wrong and inexcusable, but there's nothing I can reasonably do there other than demanding security in each & every public toilet or shower."

I AM concerned, always have been, but there's nothing I can do about that other than not doing it myself or pointing it out to other men if I'm present. Unfortunately, it's not illegal, which ties neatly into my concern that we shouldn't allow EVEN more.
Anyone else notice the irony of the OP's forum title? :P

Anyway, IMO the printer thread was more fun.

Hey I thought you were going to leave! Get out of here! And will you close the fucking doors!? ;)

Then again, I was going to call it quits myself after this, so I guess I'd better go close them too...

Dalthnock: THIS!

I love you. Thank you!

And if you notice, dtgreene more or less exposed himself unwittingly on another post, when he mentioned that children should also have the right to drink, smoke, etc... emphasis on the etc.

He was also the first to try to deviate the topic, right on the first reply post.

Hmmm...
#1: My preferred pronouns are she/her/hers. Please respect that.

#2: I never actually said what you claim; I was just mentioning cases where the rights of children are viewed as less important than those of adults.

#3: Actually, what you consider the "deviation of the topic" happened before my first post.

Do not be daft, please. My "boasting" was in reply to your "I have a trans friend", an updated version of the 90s "I have a black friend" & the 00s "I have a gay friend". It's completely ridiculous.

And it should be common sense, although it isn't, that you should NOT speak on behalf of other adults unless they explicitly asked you to do so. In other words, your opinion might not necessarily reflect theirs.

But keep twisting my words, please. After all, it's common practice on internet forums.

Dalthnock: As for the second, I can only hope I'm blowing this way out of proportion. But if anyone thinks that child molesters & rapists won't try to take advantage of these laws as much as they can, then I got a few plots of land on Mars to sell you.
Child molesters and rapists *haven't* been taking advantage of these laws. In fact, I can't think of an incident where one did try to take advantage that wasn't specifically a protest to this sort of law.

The title is bitter sarcasm. I'm sorry, I couldn't format the thread title in a way that would show it.

dtgreene: a 7-year old trans girl
I missed this.

7 year old trans girl?

You mean children choose their sex this early? That would, of course, mean that they THINK about sex, otherwise they wouldn't choose it.

Is that where you're going with this?
