(About the nightmares: There are 6
- 2 killed Origi and 4 came at the group
- Roosevelt killed one of the four (= 3 with group, 2 up in the air)
- Peloquin gets noticed and two from with the group turn to him (= 1 with group, 2 with Peloquin, 2 up in the air)
- Rufus' Holy Guardian kills the one with the group and gets tackled and torn apart by the 2 that were up in the air (= 2 from air with the group, 2 with Peloquin)
- Yeenwi takes control of one with Peloquin (= 2 with group, 1 with Peloquin))

(About the rats: Doc wrote I can turn them agaist enemies and that the spell should hold long enough to finish any fight and leave the area. I will send him a chat about them falling out of their trance in case of combat. Just so you know, Tanea will not be happy about them getting hurt on our behalf -and against their will- and will at least heal them, if they get injured, so maybe Siegfried could cast Turn undead on the 2 with the group to give the rats a better chance and upset Tanea less? But only after seeing the result of Yeenwi trying Control Undead on the 3 remaining nightmares.)

runnerex: 74 - Yeenwi - Drow Necromancer ...
@runnerex: Can Yeenwi control more than one at a time? Can he cast Control Undead on multiple targets at once (and if they are split up -2 with group and 1 with Peloquin-? Are you sure?)

I hope Yeenwi knows how long his spell will last or else they'll tear him apart once the time limit ends.

(I/Tanea will insist, that he, and whoever wants to walk with him, either walks way ahead or way behind us. I don't want that thing to break loose among us, probably when we are engaged in another fight already, so we end up getting torn apart on multiple fronts, like we almost were just now. Of course, that's probably not going to accomplish anything.)

(I'm waiting to take my turn to see what Lemon_Curry (Shins A'Hoy) plans to do. If he moves forward past the rats scouting for more traps then I plan to stick with him and protect him while he does that but I need to wait on him to see what he wants to do next.)
avatar
Lemon_Curry: The disarmed trap is an acid trap. I could reset it but chances are someone (here's looking at you, clumsy stone mountain!) might trigger it in the heat of battle.
(Lets talk strategy?)

(Before I make a move, I'm waiting for Docs answers to my questions and if runnerex is sure about Yeenwis abilities. Also for Shins' next move.)

(My thoughts:
If the rats have a good chance against the nightmares -they surely only have physical attacks- and Shins wants to reset the trap, I would like to send the rats a little further away from the trap up the tunnel (= the direction they came from and where we plan to head to) -so they don't trigger it- and us fleeing past the rats, even further up the tunnel and let the rats engage the following nightmares -which will probably not trigger that trap, because they are flying?- so the trap will still be there if the centipede chooses our tunnel. But that would depend on Shins beeing able to set the trap after everyone (including the rats) passed it and fleeing past the rats to the group on the same action, otherwise the nightmares will surely target him. And I don't know if a character can do this in one action or if it requires separate actions. EDIT: Moving, acting and moving again is allowed, according to Docs answer to my questions via chat.
Any other ideas? Something I'm missing? My description to confusing to follow?)

I've asked Doc in chat for clarification and will post, when I get an answer.

I'm not sure if you're able to directly control them. Only have them stay calm as long as we don't provoke them. I'm thinking Shins moves up ahead past the rats and sets the acid trap telling everyone where it is so that they don't trip it by accident. That way, the nightmares and the centipede will have the rats and the acid trap to go through. It may not kill them but it will surely slow them down giving us a chance get some distance from them.

(Like I wrote in post 121: "Doc wrote I can turn them agaist enemies and that the spell should hold long enough to finish any fight and leave the area. I will send him a chat about them falling out of their trance in case of combat." Sounds like direct control to me.
Can flying things even trigger that trap?)
After consulting with Doc:

avatar
FlockeSchnee: @runnerex: Can Yeenwi control more than one at a time?
Yes, but at the start of each turn there will be a dice roll on whether I get to keep control or not and the more powerful the creature, the bigger chance of it breaking free.

avatar
FlockeSchnee: @runnerex: Can Yeenwi cast Control Undead on multiple targets at once?
No.

With that information in mind, I've updated my earlier actions.

(Thank you.)

(Doc answered my questions as well. I can control the rats, but the further I get away from them I will loose control. They can fight without me losing control, but they don't stand a chance against the nightmares.
Doc suggested to count how many nightmares are actually left. Is my count wrong? Post 35 states "she (Origis) is grabbed by two" and "Four more Nightmares descend towards the group". = 6 and we only killed 2 (Roosevelt and the Holy Guardian) and one is controlled by Yeenwi. What am I missing?
Or is it just about "we can defeat the remaining three "easily" together"?)

Fish the Half-Orc Berserker

Send the giant rats towards the centipede creature. That'll keep it busy and hopefully kill the rats for us. We cannot risk them turning against us. Or we can send one further down the tunnel to scout and trigger any traps. Let it clear the way for us. We can handle it once the spell loses effect.
[68 - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief]

My cover was blown! Two Nightmares spotted me and attacked, my Light Hammer barely causing any damage to the one I struck. I was lucky to have so many defend me! The Drow Necromancer (Yeenwi) cast a spell at one of the two Nightmares, keeping it under his control while that second Nightmare remains very determined to attack me. Both the Human Paladin (Roosevelt) and Dwarven Druid (Gillius) appear to have their attention focused on this latter threat. Will they come to my rescue? I nod in appreciation at these three strangers. "If I survive this," I say to them, "Next round of cold ale is on me!"

I recoil from both Nightmares, keeping an eye on the one determined to attack me. If there's a shadow nearby that I can conceal myself with, then I do exactly that. Hopefully, the Trio that came to my rescue can finish them off. Maybe I can help? I swap my Light Hammer for my Shortbow. Will my enchanted arrows work on these two Nightmares and paralyze them? Only one way to find out... from the cover of the shadows, I shoot the first arrow at the Nightmare not under the Drow's influence. And if I miss, I shoot a second. Hopefully, the arrow's enchantment will work, making it easier for the others to kill it.
++++++++++++++++++++++++
High constitution. Leather armour.
1 x cure poison potion. 1 x heal potion.
Lockpicks. Trap disarm kit. Rope.
Ring of free movement - this ring means traps and spells to ensnare me will not work.
Shortbow and quiver of 20-2=18 enchanted arrows (paralyze).
Lucky dagger. Light hammer.

67 - Rufus - Human Cleric

(Like someone said, I'm not sure sending the Giant Rats to the chamber would be in our best interest, it could attract whatever is in the chamber. We have enough troubles ahah.)

As walking forward with the head of the group, Rufus prevents his comrades:
"Watch out partners! I will enlight the way for a moment. Please do not get in the way! "

Rufus places himself for avoiding any partner.
He launches his Silver Light-Hammer on Fire toward the end of the dark tunnel, budgeoning any creature that would be there. He looks accurately the way and retrieves the returning weapon.

(I count 3 Nightmares remaining plus the one Yeenwi is currently controlling. I think Peloquin and the others trying to save him are going to need all the help they can get so even though the rats can't kill a Nightmare, they can distract the Nightmares long enough to either escape or finish them off.)
(Don't know when Lemon_Curry (Shins A'Hoy) will be back online so I'm going to take my turn to stay next to him and protect him.)

I stand next to and follow Shins A'Hoy protecting him from any dangers he may face.
