sasuke12: I have positioned myself behind Siegfried to shoot crossbows at any enemy targets in sight.

In case, Siegfried misses the target after swinging his sword, I can shoot my bows at the enemy.
(you do realize you're hurting Siegfried's saving throws by being next to him. Why not stand behind a half orc to get a bonus to attacking throws for your character?

Doc's quote from page 1 of the game:

" Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Halflings will receive minus 2 to all saving throws while in close proximity to Drow.

Drow will receive plus 1 to all attacking throws while in close proximity to Half Orcs and Goblins. ")
I also vote for option B. Not sure how long an Acid Fog would last, but I could always put one up behind us, so anything coming through after we go further in the tunnel will have that to contend with. Combined with the monsters possibly tripping the trap, that could be a double dose of acid against what's currently in here.

Thoughts?

(Anything to slow down those Nightmares and that big-centipede-man-thing in the main chamber, I'm all for it.)

edit: on second thought, save it for later. You might accidentally hit people who aren't up here by the rats yet.

(Rufus guardian may be able to expel them/some from our plane, or drive them away)
(If you send toxic gas, be sure to not launch it on us :'D )

edited my original action.

I stay at a safe distance from the rats waiting to see the effects of Tanea and Loradan's spells. After their spells are cast, I strike at the closest rat unaffected by the "Calm Animals" spell.

Thank you for keeping track of all this. We should stand formation in two subgroups for battles to minmax the attacking bonuses.
40 - Gilius - Dwarven Druid

I command the stone elemental to wait for any incoming rat unaffected by any spell previously cast that turn and bash/stomp it.
Meanwhile, I get close to the fighters in the front, just behind them, ready to make a run for it when everybody does. If a nightmare gets close to me, I'll try to strike it with my cudgel, but if none comes for me then I'll just try to avoid them.
Regarding the torch that was being discussed earlier: the last thing I can remember is that it was "shedding little light", but little light is better than no light, so in addition to my actions I pick up the torch and point it toward the upcoming giant rats.

[68 - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief]

From my position of stealth, I notice that the path ahead of me is partially covered in darkness and shadows, which hopefully will provide me with adequate cover. I want to join the others in battling the Giant Rats, but I must be careful not to attract the Nightmares flying above. I notice the Human Cleric (Rufus) and Human Paladin (Roosevelt) casting magic against the Nightmares and that's when I decide to sneak past them as discretely as I possibly can, Light Hammer still in hand and relying on my Ring of Free Movement for protection against traps and spells. A Drow Necromancer (Yeenwi) caught me unawares as he cast a spell towards the Nightmares. I must keep a comfortable distance from this Drow as I aim to reach the clan battling the Giant Rats. My eyes scour the surroundings for any advantageous vantage points as I approach those fighting the furry rodents.

++++++++++++++++++++++++
High constitution. Leather armour.
1 x cure poison potion. 1 x heal potion.
Lockpicks. Trap disarm kit. Rope.
Ring of free movement - this ring means traps and spells to ensnare me will not work.
Shortbow and quiver of 20 enchanted arrows (paralyze).
Lucky dagger. Light hammer.

Edit: Stupid grammar mistakes. ;) Also mistakenly refered to Drow as "it" rather than "he". An embarrassing error on my part. Sorry.

Haha, I'm an "it" now? "It" feels displeased with you.

LOL! Not my intention, honestly! I wasn't sure how to refer to you, a Drow... Are you male? Female? Other? Let me know and I will correct that terrible "it". ;) Sorry about that!!

Oh, and by the way, me saying that I want to keep a comfortable distance from you is because of Doc's mentioning that "Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Halflings will receive minus 2 to all saving throws while in close proximity to Drow". So, nothing personal. ;)

Edit: I just caught sight of your post #84 and you clearly stated "he". My bad. There's just too much shit to read here. LOL ;) Correction has been made.

Btw guys, there's nothing wrong in roleplaying fictional racism, it just adds more flavour to the game :P
(also some races are inherently evil in D&D and so rightfully disliked by default)

Yep, unless there is an explicit lack of space, we need to stay in a two-group formation: Humans, Elves, Dawrves and Halflings on one side; Drows and Half-Orcs on the other. This eliminates the penalties for the first group and gives a bonus to Drows.

( IMO this would need a roleplay reason.. it's not like our characters know about dice rolls penalties or bonuses.
What causes them in the first place? Is it due to some magic or to the distrust that people have towards Drows?
If the reason is the second, your character can't really suggest anything about splitting the group, because he's unusually very tolerant towards such creatures )

(Good points. What if one of us has studied magic/biology and knows about this unexplained but empirically verified effects across species?

In the end it's about maximizing our survival chances -for everybody, as I promised. If separating us in two sub-groups helps all of us... let's call it cruel to be kind).
