Genocide2099: Fish the Half-Orc Berserker

Grunts* If the resurrection fails, leave the body behind. He's just going to slow us down. You humans are so sentimental. (Annoyed that you kept the hammer when I already have the intention of keeping it for myself.)
No offense Fish, but I don't exactly trust you to give Rufus's weapon back once he's resurrected. After all, he's going to need something to defend himself. I'm just trying to look out for everyone's best interests -- meaning survival.

( Wait lol, we're trying to resurrect him.

Btw guys, what's the situation now?

Siegfried and the Elemental are nearby 3 Nightmares (2 fighting each others), kinda in the middle of the tunnel.
The rest of us went towards Rufus at the end of it and we're all waiting for Shin to disable the trap (& detect others) and for Gilius to cast resurrect.

What about the rats, where are they now? Between us and Siegfried?

P.s: btw the D&D wiki shows Nightmares as evil black horses and not as floating red ghosts XD

EDIT: fixed the ghosts number)

(Tanea sent them further up the tunnel so I think they are ahead of all of us. But somehow didn't trip the trap? Trap immunity perhaps?)

( If so, I really don't like their position. I feel it will (literally) bite us in the a*s.

Also, I frankly wish Siegfried had banished both Nightmares. )

(I personally thought Tanea should've moved the rats to engage the Nightmares to distract them but it was her decision ultimately. All we can do is voice our opinions and let the player decide what best to do -- in true RPG fashion.

Perhaps moving the rats further up the tunnel might be a better option since they would be able to engage enemies that they can actually do damage against. We just have to make sure Tanea stays in range to control them.)

( Indeed indeed, but sadly I think that FlockeSchnee didn't even notice my posts as he never replied )

(I know that, but Roosevelt does not. It has not been me tioned in open discussion where he can hear.)
No hero left behind! There is hope for Rufus.

Nobody needs healing, right? This seems to be all-or-nothing so far.

I will stay in the back of the group in case the stone elemental can't finish the nightmares off and attack them again with my silver sword (bonus against undead) if they are still alive and hostile (any way to determine if any of them is mind-controlled or not?). And pray for a better dice roll this time.

(By my count, there is one Nightmare by the stone elemental and 2 in a tussle by Peloquin. Based on Doc's last post, I don't think we can tell which is friend or foe while they are fighting.)

74 - Yeenwi - Drow Necromancer

avatar
Pouyou-pouyou: Strigon, Yeenwi and Fish shouldn't go on their own ahead as they won't be able to spot potential traps. Shins should go first.
I agree with that. Plus, we both pack a lot of magical firepower as Drow Necromancer and would be able to use it better by hanging back a little after the main group. Not to mention not giving you the -2.

Yeenwi patiently waits for Shins A'Hoy - Halfling Thief to start looking for traps at the front of the group, while keeping an eye on the Nightmare situation at our back.

Doc0075: ** TURN 3 **

Western tunnel:

Yeenwi moves down the tunnel.

63 - Fish - Half Orc Berserker moves up the tunnel with the Drow.

4 - Strigon - Drow Necromancer moves up the tunnel with his fellow Drow.

67 - Rufus - Human Cleric throws his silver light hammer (rather than the torch he is carrying?) up the tunnel *rolls dice* where it stops he can see a room on either side of the tunnel.
I'm a bit confused.

Shouldn't Fish and Strigon also have moved down the tunnel (away from the central chamber), since they moved with me?

Didn't Rufus also throw his light hammer down the tunnel (away from the central chamber and where we haven't been yet), instead of up, where the Nighmares and Rats are now?

Thanks for the recall. The nightmare by the Stone Elemental might still be affected by Turn Undead, so my sword should be more useful fighting against the nightmares next to Peloquin.

Change of action:

I attack the two Nightmares next to Peloquin with my silver sword.

( Btw, here are some more details for us from Doc:

- tunnel is two people high, so about 12 foot [3.65 mt]
- there are some torches but the lighting is poor
- [we don't know yet if the tunnel ends or not after the 2 doors]
- the doors are closed, the trap was before [them]
- triggered traps are [to be considered] disabled
- [the red glow was actually caused by Detect Secret and now it has worn off]

Maybe I'll cast it again, to see if the doors have some protection ward?
)

(That's a good idea. Someone from another thread rushed into a door before checking for any wards and was killed instantly. Do you know how long your cooldown is for Detect Secrets?)

( Sadly, I guess only 2 turns, as Origi cast it immediately after entering the tunnel.
And I don't know the spell's range of effect or if its point of origin follows the mage, though.
I imagine that, in any case, it should be wide enough to be useful to safely explore. )

Loradan decided to cast Detect Secret to check if the 2 doors had some kind of protection ward.
This also revealed if there were other secret areas around, hiding extra traps or, possibly, treasures.

He didn't dare moving close to the doors, however, before Shin finished his inspection of the tunnel.
"Please don't touch the doors yet, I have to check something" - he said to the halfling in front of him.
