BKGaming: I reached out to GOG, but unfourtantly didn't get any new information. There will be communication about the update, but no ETA right this second. We will have to wait a bit longer.

torsoul: That doesn't sound good.

BKGaming: I wouldn't read to much into it yet, I've never seen GOG give info about an update before the update is actually released. Not communicating much is just how they are.
I'll take your word for it. I'm just uneasy that there they have an announcement about the update, and not a release for the update. Just expecting the worst I suppose.
Why do people assume they won't get the NEXT patch? So far GoG always had the big patches with new content. You really think Hello Games won't give the GoG users the NEXT patch?

It is weird that it remains so sillent, but as people said its way past office hours in Europe. Perhaps it was suppose to be on a timer to autopatch and something went wrong. Hopefully we get it tomorrow early.
I took the only option i had and downloaded the game from a torrent site. It-s very nice and all but paying for something that you can get for free, hurts .. A lot ! GOG.com has failed miserably in their quest to bring cool games at lower prices !

corran109: Do you have a direct line or something?
I'll just say that I know how to get in touch with certain GOG employees which works better than these forums to which GOG hardley ever looks at.
It is Hello Games job to inform use, not GoG ones. Hello Games use GoG as plattform to publish their game here.

Or did you have saw that Valve give updates for example on GTA5 Online? Nope.

The different on GoG is, that many Game are brought to use by GoG, but No Man's Sky is not one of that game.

Well, just a theory, but it is really late in the UK where Hello Games is based. They could have updated the Steam version, and decided to wait until tomorrow to do GOG because we have less users. Not saying it's right but the update released very late over there, possibly latter than they intended for it to release.

There are also client differences between Galaxy and Steam, that probably requires some work when bringing the update to GOG.

That would be hilarious. "Well, we lied and shafted everyone for years now and we're finally releasing a fraction of the content we originally promised and everyone is excited for it... Oop, 5pm! Time to go home!"
For whomever missed it, like myself, looks pretty amazing and the list is endless:

https://www.nomanssky.com/next-update/

But I have lingering doubts, too:

* will we get it
* how much is going to end borked from a previous save - I've invested several hundred hours, I have an S ship among others, a good (underpriced) freighter - I'd rather quit than starting from zero again
* how good will the single player experience be/how much of a single player choice will there be

Any client differences should have been accounted for ahead of time. If that's the issue, they shouldn't have picked the 24th as their release date.

If developers are going to go "oh well, I guess GOG doesn't get the same release date" it really disincentives me from ever buying from GOG again.

Not like it would be the first time they just went silent.
...I go read the NMS Next twitter page, half the posts are about no GoG update yet.

Every update this happens, seems like a 12-24hr delay between GoG and Steam.

I can understand there are technical reasons, but your meant to learn from them and fix it for NEXT time. Again, every update this happens.

If you have a bought copy you are legally allowed one "backup copy". If you haven't yet bought the game, you're a dirty rotten scoundrel!! :)
