Figured it out....

1. Close the browser.
2. Run chkdsk (full - include all sectors and attempt to fix errors).
3. Run Defragment (force scan and defrag even if not enough files are fragged).
4. Download the latest version of Malwarebytes (uninstall if you already have so you are certainly up to date).
5. Install malwarebytes and run a full, deep scan.
6. Download CCleaner (uninstall if needed) and run a full/deep scan and clean.
7. Move all emails out of your inbox (respond to any you have not yet responded to).
8. Shut down your PC.
9. Wait 15 - 30 minutes for all the fans to stop.
10. Dust out the PC. (do this 3 blocks from your house so the dust can't find its way back).
11. turn your PC back on.
12. Load up your browser.
13. Come back to this thread.
14. Note how quick it was. (repeat steps 1-14 each time you want to refresh the thread)

Go ahead... EVERYONE... try it now!
