Sachys: AH! yes, that sounds familiar - was the inspiration for the story that miyazaki film was based on... cant remember its name!
Indeed!
Is the wikipedia entry accurate? (i never bother with it because of its flimisness!).
Spirited Away?
I remember reading the wikipedia entry a couple of years ago. It even had a picture of the house. Can't see it now.

I'd be careful when visiting that site, my anti-virus just blocked a trojan!

triock: Hmm, not sure how accurate, but you can always try to google for more information if you're interested. :D
So far seems about right from what I remember when covering it with my days at the archaological trust (when doing tours for the public / schools, we usually finished with the viking sagas, but one week there was some new exhibit at the museums and as a part of that we were all asked to choose another folklore for the weekend. I checked some russian / slavic stuff but ended up doing an old one about tir na oag / tir nan og).

DarkoD13:
It was Howls Moving Castle (in the English release) - Spirited Away was a different tale where the little girl whos moving house goes to the land of the spirits

There was an old creepy lady that bossed her around in that one, I just didn't remember if that was Baba Yaga.

I know who you mean - it's quite possible that she was "inspired by" at least as she had a twin sister - one helpful, one not and both quite ambiguous too!

ODDLY - including my key drop earlier today, its been a day of learning on the ninja thread.

Next up: chemistry with Schnuff!

Played QFG 3,4, and 5 back in the day. I was a bit upset with the 5th game... 4 was great... and 3 was good. :)

I owned 4, borrowed 5... then got the Anthology (1-4) from a friend... then lost the CDs, and the day they came on GOG, I instantly bought it, despite any financial burdens I was having, lol...

... never regretted it one bit! It took the Adventure game and added some action to it, without comprimising (in my opinion). I liked it most because of that, and the pun humor throughout. I enjoyed 3,4,and 5 the most. It also let you import your character from one game to another. Man, I'm gonna have to play them soon again... I'm busy playing The Dig right now :)
