Spec Ops: The Line is now available DRM-free. Get it 80% off until May 20th, 10pm UTC.

It’s been 6 months since Dubai was wiped off the map by a cataclysmic sandstorm. Thousands of lives were lost, including those of American soldiers sent to evacuate the city. Today, the city lies buried under sand, the world’s most opulent ruin. Now, a mysterious radio signal is picked-up from Dubai, and a Delta Recon Team is sent to infiltrate the city. Their mission is simple: Locate survivors and radio for Evac. What they find is a city in the grip of war. To save Dubai, they’ll have to find the man at the heart of its madness—Col. John Konrad.
Of course I am glad to see this here and despite not being a fan of military shooters I will eventually purchase this, if for no other reason than the cultural significance and its story.

That said I would like to know who thought that 30$ for 7 year old last gen game with a run time of about 6 hours was appropriate "MSRP"????

Honestly 6$ is about right considering you can get a physical console copy for >10$ All day every day from various individual sellers on Amazon and Ebay. But MSRP for this should be about 15-20 at most.

It truly astounds me how people lose all concept of cost vs value when it comes to games and digital distribution.

Cananas: without its multiplayer modes
As it was intended by the devs originally, by the way.
The devs never wanted Spec Ops The Line to have multiplayer, but had to tack it on because of 2K, iirc.

musteriuz: I'll be very happy when this goes on gog connect.
For this price? You might as well buy it?

might have something to do with games only being bought when they're on sale these days ^^

Yes more consoley turd person crap.

Guess it's time for me to go back to playing 90s shooters. They might not be gold, but at least they were not hell bent on breaking immersion.

Cananas: Another game that comes to GOG, without its multiplayer modes. Come on!
The multiplayer was the worst part of the game, it was literally tacked on at the last minute as @K basically wanted to jump on on the military multiplayer action of the time.

Even on Steam no one was playing it. You get Spec Ops for the singleplayer and it's depressing story telling.

You might be right but it still makes little sense because pulling the steam tactic of keeping inflated MSRP to make sale prices look better because of larger percentages off instead of having natural depreciation of value over time reflected in digital prices seems like a major reason why people just wish list stuff and wait for it to go on sale. Damned if you do, damned if you dont I guess. Just another sign of just how dysfunctional the state of the industry has been evolving into.

S_H_O_D_A_N: I tried to play the game with mouse and keyboard and it felt horrible. The story may be interesting, but the gameplay is taken from simple console shooters with cover system.
And that's how the magic of this game works!

I remember that when it was released, I was pretty tired of all these cloned shooters with cover system. But when I started the game, I was almost immediately impressed with the story, so I finished the whole game at one go in the evening, taking breaks only for coffee and cigarettes (especially after the most famous scene from this game).

If you haven't played this game yet, I don't know what are you waiting for.

Luckly, Blood sound like the perfect game you might enjoy. As for me I'll definitely be getting this, probably with a copy of Blood.

I have no need, Fully aware of it and the mechanics of how it happens. I work in a field where such information is pertinent.

Its a case similar to the adage "we get the government we deserve" because the problem technically isn't the corporations, It rests solely at the feet of us as consumers who are far too apathetic and allow this nonsense to happen.

That's doesn't change the facts that GOG should be extremely blatant & upfront about the fact that it removed multiplayer from the GOG version. Every customer needs to know that, including all the ones that didn't happen to read the post of the forum user who pointed it out.

This should not be a secret that GOG sweeps under the rug, via failing to make the fact of the removed multiplayer crystal clear on the store page itself.

No one is keeping it a secret.

In that case, where, precisely, on the GOG store page, does it tell prospective purchasers that this game has multiplayer on another platform but that multiplayer was removed from this GOG version?

Unless that information is disclosed, by GOG, clearly and in an upfront manner, then yes, it is being kept a secret. Not everyone reads every forum post.
