UPDATE: The first No Man's Sky update is now out!
It's a much-awaited bundle of fixes, as well as compatibility and performance improvements and you can grab it now via GOG Galaxy auto-updates, or with the newest offline installers.

No Man's Sky a massive science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Note that the game takes place in one persistent PC universe, shared across GOG and Steam.

In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid, those with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as any of us are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — gradually getting catalogued by explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.

The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means to stand your ground in a fight. Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal the greatest mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

Calibrate your suits for extreme insomnia, reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, DRM-free on GOG.com!

richlind33: ]And yes, it *is* a piece of shit at $60. And now, they don't seem to be competent enough to patch their malformed "baby" -- the sort of "baby" that you'd expect to find in a dumpster outside an abortion clinic near Chernobyl or Fukushima.

cheru2016: For all of the game's shortcomings, I'm still able to have a little bit of fun with it, albeit usually late at night when I'm too buggered to do anything that requires any brain power. But as you mentioned, it's just not worth $60, or if you're in Australia, $90.
You obviously didn't buy it from GOG did you? The game is still, and always has been $62AUD here.
Why hasn't DT been in yet to comaplain about the title being gender specific? :P

Roxolani: another overhyped title?
avatar
Woolytoes: Yes, overhyped and overpriced.

It has nice graphics, but besides that it doesn't have a lot of content or gameplay.
You can't do much besides exploring, naming things and endless resource grinding.

It has NO Multiplayer and you can't build anything like e.g. in Minecraft & Co..

But no worries they confirmed to add missing content and charge you for it.
You think it's going to be a big flop? It's still early, but it seems like it will even though it's currently at the top of the GOG and Steam sales list.

No, I'm not thinking that it is a flop. It is an huge success already, at least from "money" perspective of the developers & the publisher already, because it is OVERHYPED. But it has nothing to offer besides fancy graphics and almost no content or gameplay and therefore it is OVERPRICED.

As I stated in my previous post, I purchased both the Platstation 4 and PC versions. PS4 was almost $100.

Further to my previous post/review, I documented my first hour or so of the PS4 version and condensed it into a short video for anyone wondering what it's like (though I'm sure everybody already knows by now).

It was a lot of fun for the first planet or two, but you soon realize that there's nothing separating the first planet from the thousandth.

tinyE: Serious question, what is it with you and this game? :P
I haven't played it, so I really can't give an opinion, but you seem just totally fucking enraged by anyone that doesn't like it, which puzzles me.
avatar
Regals: It isn't so much if a person has played it and disliked it.
It is majority of them haven't even actually played it.

The real question is why are people trolling this game and not have even played it.
While garbage games like team fortress do not have anyone trolling it.

I am not so much as defending game... but gog which is getting trolled by bunch of "internet critics" fan bois.

Game technically doesn't need defense ... it is a raging success.
Actually I have played it a few hours already, and I don't see anything which would justify the high price for this game. If I could build something like in Minecraft & Co and play it together with my friends then it would be a complete different story. But so it is a nice overpriced interactive screensaver.

richlind33: Are you trying to suggest that you care about anyone or anything other than yourself? Really? lol

Watch a few hours of game footage and you'll see straightaway that the review is spot on.

Maybe they'll make a No Man's Sky movie. 20th Century Fox can release it, that way we can add this theme to it.

Is it still a technical disaster?

Sounds like it's not patched yet on GOG, if that helps answer the question.
Hey GOG Staff

How about some sort of update on what the hell is happening. Are you talking with Hello Games, are you doing anything to find out what the f is going on. 3 days since any of your GOG staff have posted anything about what might be happening. You may not have any good news but at least post something each day letting us know that. Are Hello Games ignoring you or what ?.

You all look as incompetent as them at the moment. Please a little correspondence

Well it works fine on my sub minimum req system (Nvidia GT 730)
Well, after a look through this, I can see why this might have been a AAA game, had every touted feature made it into the release. Unfortunately it sounds like a victim of "ship it now" from a publisher who preferred to capitalise on the initial interest instead of investing in making a bona fide classic. Quite a shame.
