NuffCatnip: Not in a conventional way, but maybe someone has it as a gift and you could try to trade something for it.
Well, there are many official Steam resellers, but I have never heard of an official GoG reseller.

iRevolt: Eeem, ok. Thx, I guess I'll look for GOG resellers.
As for trading, try the GoG forums, there are a couple of open trading threads.

Check this thread, it's the biggest trading thread here AFAIK:

For what it's worth, I agree that it doesn't make sense to sell the same stuff differently on different stores.
Here's a question...

Has anyone who only owns Darksiders II and not the DLC, received a discount code?

While it's a great gesture offering the new edition for free, since I didn't buy the DLC (but own both 1 and 2), seems I'd now be forced to pay $24 to complete it. The same as anyone else right now, making my previous purchase of Darksiders II basically meaningless...
Hmmm,...no "Deathinitive Edition" for me, it seems.

Or maybe better said: No "80% off - code" for me (since I only own DS1 and DS2, but not the DLCs).

But the "best" part is, that I couldn't even (re-)download my original DS2 Edition if I wanted to, because the click on the "GOG Downloader Links" always ends with the GOGbear and a 404.

Not cool.

Well, I just checked...at least I can download via my browser...

Since I bought the franchise pack on Steam (there was no DRM free version then) I also received the new release and now have both of them. I am still downloading as I write this but as far as I can see on youtube videos at least graphically I prefer the old version with its brighter colours and more comical approach (which imo is fitting for the franchise). I however would like to have the DLCs more integrated in the normal version the way it is now in the new release - unfortunately I don't think that this is gonna happen if nordic basically is pulling the normal release.

I think it is a VERY BAD decision to pull the normal release because both versions imo are looking extremely different in colours and I am quite sure that there are many who would prefer to buy the old version which they cannot do anymore. And even though I really appreciate what nordic is doing here you one don't have to forget that this gives them the possibility to demand a normal high price for a game which meanwhile is quite old (and has been in numerous sales) and the fact that they are stopping access to the normal version let me think even more that this is the main reason for this "new" version. I'd rather have preferred it if they had done it the way "Whitepapergames" and "Astronauts" did it with "Ether One" and "The Vanishing Of Ether Carter". If you already have the game you get the new version for free and if you are buying it now you are getting both versions.

Hunter65536: Just getting an opinion, I got this elsewhere for free because I owned the franchise pack, is it worth taking a 12GB hit to my network bandwidth provided that I already have the original version installed? (My ISP throttles download speeds once the I exceed that 40GB limit)

I still don't have my free copy or coupon code..come on GOG..I know I'm in Canada but can we have something at the same time as the rest of the world for once. I bought DS2 a few months ago on GOG and it's all I see in my account.
So anyone downloaded and tried the new edition out?.

I did, it seems to be a crappy PC Port.

Extremelly disappointing, considering how stable the normal version was.

Stable? The original release has a difficult to curtail stammering framerate, resistance to anti-aliasing, broken v-sync, I could only get it to look and run well using external software.
Thank you GOG, you did this release right. Steam did it wrong.

- You left the original version as a download option for those who might want that (bugs or whatever the reason may be) (Edit --- should have been clearer, this is for existing customers who purchased prior to this new release as it typical of GOG, steam often replace a game version, however I'm advised by "Impaler26" that they at least didn't do it in this instance and existing customers can get both in their steam library)

- You automatically provided a free copy of the game for those who owned the Game + DLCs

----- I also own the game on steam. Bought all the DLC, but since I didn't buy it as part of the franchise pack (same content) I didn't get the upgrade. From what I hear on the forums steam won't fix it for impacted users due to technical issues.

Another reason to buy from GOG. I'm weaning myself away from steam bit by bit as I get my game catalogue built up here.

--- Edited for clarity as I lead to confusion over who got the old version of the game.

CharlesGrey: Part of the problem is that most of these games, in particular Western AAA games, are designed with a male target audience somewhere in the teens or early twenties. As a result, most of the characters look alike, and they frequently have that Western/US comic book look. Specifically, why do so many game characters look like Schwarzenegger on steroids?
Sounds like you're playing the wrong games for your tastes. There's plenty of male characters in action games who don't look like WWE wrestlers. Alex Mercer from Prototype and Lo Wang from Shadow Warrior (2013) are two of my favorites.

Others that come to mind: Altair, Ezio, etc (Assassin's Creed), Frank West (Dead Rising), Nathan Drake (Uncharted), Cole MacGrath (Infamous), Corvo (Dishonored)...

Most action heroes *are* fit and athletic... but that's because they're action heroes, ya know?

The camera stuttering that was plaguing the original is gone only to be replaced by a camera frame-skipping, which I find more annoying for the time being, so it's back to the original, till Nordic fixes it. As for graphical enhancements, the game seems to be more bright overall, which I don't find it an improvement or downgrade. Image 2 below is from the normal version, while image 3 is from the Deathinitive Edition.

Also, for those of you who are thinking of using their saves from the normal version to continue in the Deathinitive Edition, make sure to back them up first, because if you end up not liking the Deathinitive Edition, you won't be able to use that save anymore with the older version.

I play the normal version at stable 60FPS, V-Sync working fine on my end.
