FlockeSchnee: I feel my heart hammering in my chest as I ask Roy in a rushed and slightly breathless voice: "Did you hear a voice in your head too?" My eyes must be gigantic, I'm sure, as surprised as I am. "Is it female?"
And almost as an afterthought: "If you don't belong there, maybe the "Bridge Painting" would be different?"
And as I notice him trying to push harder I say rather desperate: "Please don't destroy the "Trees and Grass" painting. The rats and I still need it."
At this, Roy stops pushing against the picture. "Huh? I wasn't the only one who heard? Yes, it is a female voice."

At Benkii: "Yeah, a voice said I don't belong here."

Finally seeing the necklace on the halfling, and after hearing Yeenwi voice his theory, he frowns. "Very well Tanea. If you would like to try.", and holds the painting up for her to look/interact directly with it.

(Tanea might try that after the dice rolls. -And she isn't really wearing the necklace yet. That happens during the dice rolls.- Hopefully she will have more information then about the necklace and stuff.)

(The question is more if you/Roy would like to try the same thing you/he did with the "Bridge painting". But BenKii is worried, the paintings might be different, so that might not be as harmless as the one you/Roy already tried. So you might want to decide carefully.)

If Tanea gets sucked in while Roy does not, he will most likely try the other painting himself. We shall wait and find out :)

FlockeSchnee: (Hmm ... Let's see what information Tanea can get from necklace and figurine. I don't know what her perception skill -or whatever skill might be responsible for that- is though. She might not get any insight from either. But there is the "wearing it check" too. I hope she would notice if that would affect her negatively in any way.)
(May not be any skill. Certain Races and Classes have different insights when they examine things. Since the necklace was originally on a statue of a halfling, simply being a halfing and examining it may be all you need to do to get more info. We'll see when Doc updates on the next turn.)

(The statue was a wolf. I think you mean the figurine of a Halfling that's attached to the necklace.
Oh, I didn't know race could factor into this too. Maybe she has good chances to get some information then.)

(The update will probably be tomorrow. This will be interesting; well, like all updates so far. :-D )

(Just had a thought and wondering what the people remaining in the western tunnel think about it. We know Drows and Half Orcs are stronger together but Drows with Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Halflings are all weaker. The Drow most likely think Tanea wanting to help some rats is stupid and want no part in it. I would suggest the Drow and Half Orcs let Tanea do her suicide mission to the Central Chamber and leave the painting with her. They can in turn stay stronger and see what is behind the last door at the end of the tunnel. This will also leave BenKii and Tanea with no penalties so they can try their "Rat Rescue" mission. Talking out of character so I need to think how Captain BenKii will put it in his words to suggest to them. Thought I'd float the idea before having the Captain speak.)
I Strigon, drow necromancer decides to wait in the left room and hear out the decisions of the remaining orc and drow about whether they want to continue down the tunnel to the big door or wait in the right room near the blue portal.

Strength in numbers, its a bad idea to split up. I believe the remaining orc and drows should stay together and if nothing important happens in the next turn around the blue portal then we should continue down the tunnel towards the big door.
Current Actions Summary:

(Note: Not sure if people going through the portal can act but I'll include them in the summary if anyone wants to try and act.)

Gone Through Portal:
57 - ConsulCaesar - Siegfried - Human Paladin
45 - phaolo - Loradan - Elven Mage
68 - matterbandit - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief
67 - Testor0 - Rufus - Human Cleric
40 - Pouyou-pouyou - Gilius - Dwarven Druid
63 - Genocide2099 - Fish - Half Orc Berserker

58 - FlockeSchnee - Tanea - Halfling Shaman
1. Tanea inspects the necklace. EDIT: And the attached figurine in case that wasn't clear for some reason.
2. Then, if she can't find anything harmful about it, she will put it on and wait a few minutes. If everything still seems "normal", she will keep wearing it (at least for the time being).
3. Tanea tries to look further up the tunnel. (How far is it? Can she see the door? How big is it? Anything else of note?)
4. Chat sent.
5. Tanea waits to see what Roy will do with/about the "Trees and Grass" painting and she will cast "Protection From Elements" on anyone still here who will leave through the portal.

25 - BenKii - BenKii - Human Warrior
I examine the painting in my hands for any clues how it may work. I attempt to try the same rock experiment that Roy did with his painting with my "Mountain Pass" painting to see if it goes through. I restrain myself from putting my own hand through it until I can find out more information about these "painting portals". I wait to see if Tanea receives her painting from Roy. If she gets it, I follow her lead what to do next. If not, I stand by her and protect her from any threats.

67 - Testor0 - Rufus - Human Cleric
Arriving to the new place, Shield and Light-Hammer in hands, Rufus observes where he has arrived. If there is a threat on that plane/place, he casts Ring of Swords, also Silence spell to block magic power from any creature.

38 - ZyloxDragon - Roy Jenks - Half-Orc Battemage
1.Roy says aloud to the painting, "What do you mean I don't belong here? I don't belong in this dungeon either! Who are you?", he pushes harder down on the picture with his hand.
I remember something about dimensional spaces being placed into other dimensional spaces as being bad. Not sure how this picture would result in going thru a portal
2.At this (referring to Tanea speaking to him), Roy stops pushing against the picture.

74 - runnerex - Yeenwi - Drow Necromancer
The blue portal in the right room feels somehow wrong to Yeenwi, so he ignores it.
Yeenwi suggests to the others who didn't enter the portal to forget about the giant rats for now, take the paintings with us wherever we decide to go next, because just as the giant rats came from one, it could be possible that something else that is dangerous could've come from the other. It would be prudent to take them and use them as a sort of shield against such a potential foe or a way to send them back without having to fight them.
Then, he says to Tanea: "Since you will put the necklace on, will you try going through one or both of the paintings? It could act as a key allowing the wearer to pass freely, even if they don't originate from there. If it's indeed that, then it could also allow you to bring someone else with you, if they are touching you while you try to enter a painting. My theory is such, because the necklace was well hidden in the same room as the paintings, so it could very well be connected to them."

4 - sasuke12 - Strigon - Drow Necromancer
I Strigon, drow necromancer decides to wait in the left room and hear out the decisions of the remaining orc and drow about whether they want to continue down the tunnel to the big door or wait in the right room near the blue portal.
Strength in numbers, its a bad idea to split up. I believe the remaining orc and drows should stay together and if nothing important happens in the next turn around the blue portal then we should continue down the tunnel towards the big door.

Haven't taken turn yet:

76 - Lemon_Curry - Shins A'Hoy - Halfling Thief

BenKii: (Note: Not sure if people going through the portal can act but I'll include them in the summary if anyone wants to try and act.)
(Other than blindly hit with my sword whatever is on the other side, I can only Heal/Cure [I don't think anybody going through the portal need it right now, but without Tanea those may come in handy later] or cast Turn Undead... but I need to know first what we're going to find there.)
(I'm not sure, if splitting up is a good idea. There are only 5 of us left on this side and we don't know if the end of the tunnel leads us out of here or if we will get out without anymore fighting.
And Tanea knows something you don't know yet. She will probably tell you after the dice rolls. -It wouldn't have made sense to do that earlier. She was a little afraid she might be going insane and everyone knows not to walk around and tell people you're insane.- It's nothing big or anything, but at least it's a little something.)

(Edit: Sorry, BenKii, I was too slow in changing my post. )

FlockeSchnee: (As a little heads up to those who didn't step into the portal:
Plans will probably get switched up. Tanea knows something you don't know yet and she will tell you after the dice rolls. -It wouldn't have made sense to do that earlier. She was a little afraid she might be going insane and everyone knows not to walk around and tell people you're insane. ;-)- It's nothing really big or anything, but at least it's a little something.)
( Can't wait. :D )

(Dammit. I changed my post, because it sounded way too ... hm ... exciting? But of course I was too slow. It's really just a tiny little thing. I'm hoping it will turn out to be something great. But I'm afraid it might actually just lead to our deaths.)

(Edit: *sigh* I only made things worse. It's a tiny, really tiny thing. That hope/fear thing is just me thinking too much about stuff, really. You will read soon.)

(You definitely know how to create an emotional rollercoaster.
Add to that Doc's mysterious silence about where the blue portal leads and it's nailbiting time. :D)

** TURN 12 **

Western tunnel:

57 - ConsulCaesar - Siegfried - Human Paladin
45 - phaolo - Loradan - Elven Mage
68 - matterbandit - Peloquin - Dwarven Thief
67 - Testor0 - Rufus - Human Cleric
40 - Pouyou-pouyou - Gilius - Dwarven Druid
63 - Genocide2099 - Fish - Half Orc Berserker
Having stepped through the portal, you slide down a chute of light to arrive at the feet of a Giant Undead Penguin Pirate, Arrr!
Please move to the Northern tunnel thread.

58 - Tanea - Halfling Shaman inspects her necklace and then puts it on, not noticing anything different happening as a result.
You know there is a door further up the tunnel but can't see it from where you are.

25 - BenKii - Human Warrior examines the mountain painting, placing a rock on top but it just sits there. You stand guard as Tanea examines Roys painting.

38 - Roy Jenks - Half-Orc Battemage angered by the voice telling him he doesn't belong here he starts to push down harder on the painting. *rolls dice* you roll a 24 :( You stop pushing at Tanea's bequest and after listening to Yeenwi, you offer the painting for the little Halfling to examine.

38 - Roy Jenks - Half-Orc Battemage earns the achievement *The Finest Of Margins*

74 - Yeenwi - Drow Necromancer has a bad feeling about the portal and ignores it. You suggest to the others to take the paintings with them. You then relay your theory to Tanea.

4 - Strigon - Drow Necromancer is in the left room waiting on what the others in the tunnel decide to do.

58 - Tanea - Halfling Shaman leaning in excitedly to look at the painting that Roy is holding there is a blinding flash of light.
You feel a burning on your left arm and let out a little scream. With a sense of panic you wait for your eyesight to return to normal. When it does you see Roy rubbing his eyes, the painting nowhere to be seen.
Your left arm is very sore, looking down at it you see the painting has been burned into your arm as a permanent tattoo.

There is the sound of large paws walking up the tunnel behind the companions as 8 Giant Rats approach steadily in a straight line.
