wizisi2k: Also, this doesn't look like ye old Nintendo takedown notice (looks like copyright troll) according to the forums.
Maybe not? Recent tweet from Metroid Database says:
"The attorney has gotten back in touch with us and it appears the notice is indeed legitimate. We have no further comments."

BTW, The AM2R forums also has few working links:
http://am2r.freeforums.org/viewtopic.php?t=1478&f=2

Look for he project here, working links may turn into dead links at any time.

Also updated the first post.

Nintendo is way too over protective of their IP's. Sooner or later everyone will stop trying and just walk away from Nintendo entirely, refusing to do anything with them. and their products will sell poorer and poorer as years go by as they scrounge to squeeze pennies out rather than get free advertising and plethora of talent keeping their stuff alive.

Exactly. Let's hope that Nintendo sooner will be acquired by a company that is less hostile toward the fans than Nintendo is ATM.

I can only think of one word to describe the company's legal department at this point: . .. .Nintendorks. :p

Just boxes. :P

Unfortunately, all of those companies have grown too large, and have bad leadership. It's too large to die quickly without some major f**kup, and even if they did it would take a while before they admit defeat. As it stands I hope the NX fails as bad as the Wii-U. For the most part they already lost their primary audience: Children. Certainly 3DS is still going okay, but it's slowing down, worse is children at an early age are being handed phones to keep them busy, and free 2 play games to occupy them rather than some dedicated console. When they grow up, Nintendo will be this off brand while Sony and MS are the two competing major gaming companies. Sega is only mentioned in passing every so often anymore, generally with a bad Sonic game attached, they will be about the same.

If Nintendo played things smart they could probably take over the entire console gaming as a whole and do great; And I'd probably prefer them to MS or Sony as it is. However that's assuming they were smart and not being royal d**kheads.

Well finally DoctorM64, the creator of AM2R, posted a response concerning this whole DMCA situation. I think this part is the most important part:
How will updates will be released, if at all?
I'm still working on it.

My priority now is to fix the invisible gravity suit bug that's hindering many player's experience. If you experience that bug, please visit the forum, and I'll eventually provide a fix.

If only it wasn't on MediaFire, I could have downloaded it immediately into OneDrive without passing by my PC. But oh well, looks like I'll have to get past that step.

Yes, I also have the Windows version full on OneDrive, if anyone's interested.

Out of touch since 1996, then.
I actually downloaded the unofficial Linux build and since running it and I had a blast for 25 minutes. Almost survived death by lava, thanks to Samus's suit. It really was a relief not to die instantly in lava...Minecraft.
