JamesBond007: I have a very good news for Metroid fans.
Thanks for the heads up!

I had this bookmarked for a long time, looking forward to it.
Cease & Desist soon, so Download & Share soon ;P

noir_7: I still have Fusion/Zero and my GBA. I can't imagine trying to play them or something similar on my PC.
Unless I'm mistaken Fusion/Zero are not remakes of Metroid 2. So if you want to experience the Metriod 2 story, you could play the AM2R version or the Game Boy version.

It's great.

JamesBond007: ...

Better get it quick - knowing Nintendo, they will likely send a cease-and-desist letter soon to its creator.
Thanks for the heads up! Just downloaded it. :D

neurasthenya: - The fan game/romhack/mod title is using game-play elements Nintendo is already experimenting with or hasn’t released;

rampancy: So basically that means that Nintendo can shut your free fan game down for basically just being a game.
If it is a direct competition with one of their products or yet to be released product (as in already being shown).
Even then, it's pretty chill, there was at least 2 "Mario Maker esque" being show right as the official Mario Maker was being sold. Excluding those that where already available for years prior.
When it says "Another" Metroid 2 Remake -- was there a first?

I believe there was a time when many people were working on Metroid 2 remakes. Hence, this one was just another one.

Of course, all the other Metroid 2 remake projects disappeared, leaving this one to be the one that got a full release, but the title stuck.
played with this for a couple hrs last night, is really quitr good

JamesBond007: I have a very good news for Metroid fans.

After years of development, a project known as AM2R (Another Metroid 2 Remake) - a fan-made remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus in a Game Boy Advance style (Fusion/Zero Mission) has been released.

You can download it here:

So how is it played via an Emulator?

Is the download a ROM that I put in a GBA Emulator?

You just unzip it somewhere and start to play.

OH BEHAVE!
My aunt bought me Metroid 2 waaaaaay back in the day. I couldn't beat the original Metroid (still haven't though I have it through Wii's VC), but I stuck with 2 until I finished it. I thought it was easy back then, but after Super Metroid and Fusion/Zero I couldn't replay it because it felt so...archaic, I guess. I've played a bit of AM2R and am enjoying it very much.
