Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

The game of my childhood. I remember my sister introducing me to the game and making me dream. I'd watch my sister play for hours, with a cult moment in one of the quests, the song about the guy asking for wood for his boat. Even today, the game still makes me dream, with its innovative gameplay for its time. ❤️

I'm a big fan of science-fiction since I was only a child. I remember one of the first SF series I ever saw, Star Trek - Next Generation, and how I couldn't wait for the next episode and see what other adventures and challenges would the crew of Enterprise endure. Naturally, when I started to play PC games a few years later, I loved games that would take to to space. Freelancer was one of the best games of that time, since it was an excellent blend of space combat and exploration and it had an interesting story. Unfortunately, I never finished it, can't even remember why, and I would love to play it nowadays on a modern system, but it can't be found anymore on any online store, so I realy hope it will come to GOG one day. It had a great gameplay and I think that there are many gamers that would enjoy it even now, in 2025.

This game is incredible, from daytime to nighttime the levels are just so awesome to play and look at. The fact this game only came out on console is a damn shame. I have spent 1000s of hours modding this game and would spend 1000s more. Not sure why Unleashed Wiis images are sprinkled in here.

The C N C series was THEE RTS series to beat and in many ways still is. It's historic and classic gameplay, story telling and presentation defined parts of two whole generations of gamers. However, it's absence from GOG is as glaring as it is confusing. Come on EA, list them all here and include the Remasters!

This was the game that my brother put me to play when i was a kid, i always loved the OST from Yoko Shimomura and the combat will always have a place in my heart due to me being in love with turn-based jrpgs, also Aya is one of the most badass MC in survival horror (IMO), great story with fun elements and masterpiece OST. Please bring it to PC, there would be nothing better than having it DRM-free forever.

Although the first iteration was way more immersive for me (probably because it carried some movie memories). This one had way more interesting mechanics, monsters and stories and allowed to dive into the world of books. Really enjoyed it!
Magic: The Gathering

Easily the best rendition of a collectible card game brought to PC, the player was free to build decks from Magic's library (even updated through 2 expansions) with cards earned through gameplay. The player then implements those decks against the game's opponents in an effort to protect the game world from the NPC card players. If the NPCs win, they permanently impact the map, eventually making victory impossible for the player, forcing you to start the game anew. Other games have tried to recreate CCG adaptations or even similar campaign sandboxes, and always pale in comparison to Shandalar, this game's campaign mode. Don't trust my words? Take a look at this game's wikipedia page and scroll down to "Reception." It's a faithful, innovative, and revolutionary adaptation for an entirely new genre of gaming for its time. It's a crime this game isn't already in GOG's forever library and maintained for future generations.

A great sequel to an awesome game, it takes everything that was good about the first and makes it better. The story is even more epic with some of the best levels of the series, with a great soundtrack and voice work. Spent tons of hours playing with my friends when I was a kid. It's a shame that this series was lost, it's a truly revolutionary RTS.
Resident Evil Code: Veronica X

The reason why this game is so much better than Resident Evil 3 NEMESIS, is that Code Veronica was developed initially as Resident Evil 3 for the Dreamcast. Due to contractual issues for exclusivity with Sony though, Capcom renamed project NEMESIS to RE3 and the rest is history. Back in the day I have only watched a friend play it on his Dreamcast (the only guy who had one ^^). But I remember vividly his rooftop apartment where he could crank up the volume since he had more forgiving neighbours than my parents^^. The atmosphere, puzzles and the gameplay was so engaging that I didn't mind playing it myself. Good times.

Truly one of the best JRPGs of its time. With a beautiful art direction, wonderful animations and a pastel color palette. Truly an inspiration for me who aspires to create pixel art as gorgeous as this game's. The combat system is also super interesting with its combo mechanic. And the story remains interesting the whole way through. Played this on my PSP not too long ago and I really hope this comes back on gog so more people can experience it, as the old PC version does not run on modern hardware...

Sweetest soundtrack in RTS. Fix the main menu issues, add widescreen support, put all three discs + map packs in one package, get multiplayer up and it'd be sick. Your choice is simple, for the moment.

If nier:automata is a masterpiece and Nier (both original and replicant) are fun times, Drakengard is the building block. It is the most Yoko taro game out there, and it surprised me to learn about it. I would love to see this ported so ppl can experience it.

I first encountered this game years ago when it was bundled as a demo with a gaming magazine. I remember being immediately hooked by its engaging mechanics and surprisingly immersive world. Not sure if this would be playable today, but would love to add it ti my collection.

This game is fantastic. The atmosphere, the narrative, the writing, it's all fantastic. While the game has shown its age, it's still an example of how FPS games are a form of narrative art. It also is deeply influential to the games by MachineGames, a studio made up of ex-Starbreeze devs, and the influence can be seen as soon as you boot up their Wolfenstein reboots and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. I remember buying this game off Amazon and being blown away by how well it aged narratively. In fact, the story is better than the movies its based on! So, it's a shame that arguably the peak of its own franchise is inaccessible.

The Diablo 3 that should-have-been! From the Diablo 1 and 2 masters, they pushed the genre forward. It's nearly endlessly replayable. They manage to keep up the tension and the terror from the first two games. I still play my Collector's Edition to this day. PS: Bill roper is also back to work on a new Hellgate game! I'm so excited to see what he comes up with! Hopefully that will encourage a rush of interest into the original! And I mean the original, not the Korean version, not the subscription version, not the free-to-play version, not the Steam version, the original was when it was at its best. Everyone else who handled the game tried to jam in microtransactions, force multiplayer, or cut the game into 3/5ths and make you pay to complete it. Yes, I've played a lot of different versions of it. :)

So... This was my first online game. I enjoyed the game immensely that I would go to sleep and think about playing more. I started getting really into the lore and would get hyped whenever new content in the game dropped. Then 2017 came and it was one of my worst years. I would find out from article tearing apart the game saying it was dying but I didn't have it in me to play. One day I booted the game up to find it was shut down and I was devastated. If it can be revived in some playable way, it could regain its original love. There isn't a game that quite did lore like this game does, with a unique art style and combat, let it come back.

The original version of this game is worth preserving. There are many things that the remastered changed about the atmosphere of the Xbox/PS3 version of this game which despite the technical limitations was the original intention of the devs. One of the best games of all time will fit right in with GOG.

Great action game, with interesting mechanics of switching between 4 heroes with different talents. Beautiful graphics, which are as "gore" as possible, as befits the Barker name!

It was my favorite game from my childhood. In every corner at this game i felt like i was there before, in a dream or something. But when i grown up - i couldn't find it anymore. I don't want to download illegal copies, use "No CD" patches etc. I just want my favorite game back.

Learn more about GOG Dream list with our FAQ
What is GOG Dreamlist?
GOG Dreamlist is a community-based tool anyone can use to vote for the games they want to see revived or added to our platform. These votes help GOG demonstrate community interest to IP owners and bring these games to life on our platform.
How does voting work?
Find a game on the list and click the arrow button to cast your vote. You can do so directly from the main page or a game's card. Every vote helps shape our platform and supports game preservation, so make it count!

Why should I vote?
Each vote shows community interest and signals to IP owners that releasing their game on GOG is a valuable opportunity.
How can I learn about the status of the game on the Dreamlist?
Currently, we can’t disclose the business status of a game before its release due to the complexity of the process and the potential negative impact this could have on our efforts. However, we’re working on a feature that will let you track the games you’ve voted for once they’re released.
Does high number of votes for a game mean that it will be released sooner?
A high number of votes shows strong interest, which influences both GOG and IP owners. However, we can’t guarantee that every highly-voted game will be released.
How does my vote help to preserve games?
All games on GOG are DRM-free, so you can download and back them up for future use. Additionally, we aim to include as many games as possible in the GOG Preservation Program, ensuring classic titles remain playable on modern systems.
