In 24 years I haven't gotten BoFIV out of my head: the best sprite art the PS1 ever saw, the dragon ball-like transformations and battles - well-paced and turn-based capped with the intricate combo system. The main quest and cast; Kahn, my beloved Ershin, and the tragedy of Fou-Lu are personal highlights. And the breadth of charming mini-games on offer (Fairy town sim and actually fun fishing stand out) complete the package. Music-wise watch the trailer and tell me that intro doesn't fill your heart with yearning, I'll replay BoFIV sometime in the near future one way or another, would love to buy a BoF collection to do so and show Capcom I care.

This DOES have a PC version! Capcom and SEGA are notorious for having one-off PC versions of their historic catalogue even if those versions aren't exactly great representations of the game or franchise. I would hope GOG reaches out to these publishers to look into preserving them for modern platforms!

Loved this game back in PSX era. I remember playing the whole game in japanese since it was the first version to arrive here in Brazil for some reason. When the US version came out, I played it all over again and this time understanding a little bit of the story. This is one of my all time beloved JRPGs and I would love to have this immortalized with GOG.

Truly one of the best JRPGs of its time. With a beautiful art direction, wonderful animations and a pastel color palette. Truly an inspiration for me who aspires to create pixel art as gorgeous as this game's. The combat system is also super interesting with its combo mechanic. And the story remains interesting the whole way through. Played this on my PSP not too long ago and I really hope this comes back on gog so more people can experience it, as the old PC version does not run on modern hardware...

BOF4 is my favorite game in the series, it does so much right and the story engaging. I loved how it went backa nd forth between you and the villain getting to know more about him. Because some games the final boss isnt even mentioned until the end. Anyways this is one game i will never forget, i could go on and on about its characters, story, battle system or music even. Such a good game.

So charming! This game has amazing artwork and fluid sprites, a beautiful and eclectic soundtrack, a varied cast of characters with engaging arcs that are a joy to experience, and a litany of detailed environments and towns to explore — all of which perfectly compliments a compelling story. Plus, the combo system, while perhaps simple by modern standards, is particularly satisfying. There’s very little fat on this game. It’s a shame the series has seemingly been banished to the wastelands by Capcom for as long as it has. Just as with Breath of Fire 3 and the series at large — this would be an ideal candidate for preservation on GOG.

I got Breath of Fire IV on my 12th birthday for PS1. Nearly 25 years later, this game remains the pinnacle of polished, refined Capcom pixel art. The sprites and animation are masterclass. The game's story is really engaging and has you playing as both the hero and anti-hero as you progress. The combat is some of the Breath of Fire series' finest, allowing you to swap characters in and out during battle (well before Final Fantasy X did it!). There's also a lot of polish with the game's Master System, Fishing minigame, and Faerie Colony, both improved over III's. The robot character Ershin also remains one of the best characters in the series! The only knocks I have against the PC version are the forced bilinear filtering on the character sprites, certain resolutions stretching the aspect ratio, battle transition swirls being removed, music not looping correctly, and the text font not looking as good as the PS1 original. Otherwise it's still very much the BoFIV fans have grown up and fell in love with! Hopefully GOG can give a re-release of this one its proper due and fix those aforementioned issues.

This was by far one of the most Unique and captivating Breath of Fire games in the series and JRPG of all time. Fou Lu was a force to be reckoned with. The transformations, boss battle themes and insane combos were part of what made this a gem. If ANY Breath of Fire game in the series was worthy of a true Sequel, then it was this one. Hope to see the entire BoF series make a come back someday soon!

ERSHIN BEST CHARACTER BAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE- In all seriousness, this is an excellent Capcom JRPG game released during the PSOne era. With over 3,000 Animation Sprites, a great story, a wonderful Combo system, awesome famous Japanese voice actors, plus an amazing Art direction that is to this day, still ahead of its time. Given this is the "PC" port, I hope the OST can be fixed, so that it'll loop correctly, as in the PSOne release. But that being said, this is my all-time favorite Capcom game !

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Fable: The Lost Chapters
Fable: The Lost ChaptersFable was expanded and rereleased as Fable: The Lost Chapters for Xbox and Windows PC platforms in September 2005. The game was later ported to Mac OS X by Robosoft Technologies and published by Feral Interactive on 31 March 2008. The Lost Chapters features all the content found in the original Fable, as well as additional new content such as new monsters, weapons, alignment based spells, items, armour, towns, buildings, and expressions, as well as the ability to give children objects. The story receives further augmentation in the form of nine new areas and sixteen additional quests. Characters such as Briar Rose and Scythe, who played only minor roles in the original game, are now given more importance and are included in certain main and side quests. Other character-based augmentations include the voice of the antagonist, Jack of Blades, sounding deeper, harsher and more demonic, and the ability to uncover (and resolve) the murder mystery of Lady Grey's sister. The updated edition of the game also applied fixes for certain glitches, such as the "dig glitch," in which the protagonist would move backward each time he used the shovel, pushing him through solid objects and sometimes trapping him.

Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy VIIIFinal Fantasy VIII is the eighth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. The gameplay makes a departure from many series standards. While it still uses the Active Time Battle system, it deviates from the series' traditional means of boosting a character's power via leveling, although levels are not completely abandoned as they were in Final Fantasy II. In addition, it does not have a Magic Point-based system for spell-casting. Instead, magic is collected, drawn, and created from items, and is used to power up the characters via the junction system.
