One of the best and most charming games I've ever played, despite its flaws that mostly stemmed from its troubled history since development. It was Diablo 2.5 before Borderlands, it aspired to be a "WoW killer", and Flagship's evident love for it made it larger than the sum of its parts. It was that love that earned it a cult following to this day, despite its disappointing launch and turbulent history since its initial shutdown.
I've played this game alone, first vanilla and then with countless mods, and with my wife and dear friends in its Global and 2038 days - and its age may show but it never gets old. There's magic at its core that still draws players in, almost 20 years after its demise.
As for why I'd want it on GOG, I'd want to see this game preserved in its original form and available to larger audiences. The original was never as widely available, and physical copies are increasingly hard to find - which may regrettably push some players to piracy. Community mods are also largely based on it, and the majority of its mod library isn't compatible with the Steam version that interested players find online today. Lastly, the Steam version is drastically different from the original version and I find it doesn't properly preserve the game's essence. It's a part of the game's history with its own value, but it's quite detached from the gem that Flagship created in 2007.
