Marcin360: @yayodeanno That was not the case, it's actually way more complicated than that. However, new forums are almost ready, we are testing them right now as a matter of fact. Hopefully it won't take more than just a couple days to bring them back up.

Once again I apologize to everyone for this inconvenience.
I'm not upset personally and don't hold any grudge against CDPR, just a little surprised that so many mistakes plied up over each other at the very premiere of the game. It's something I didn't expect as a Witcher fanboy and advocate. Anyways, I wonder if the old forum crowd will be back, used to be a nice place to hang :)

I'm not butt hurt. Judging by your attitude, it's you that seems to be hurting in some way. I didn't insult anyone, I didn't resort to personal attacks, I merely stated that a month after release is a bit late to be still testing the official forums. I, and I'd guess others, have finished with the game and it's now sitting on the shelf.

As for the game being not for me, actually you are correct. It wasn't what I was expecting. Despite being released on PC first, it was obviously developed with console porting at the forefront of the developer's mind. I have nothing against console games or console gamers. I simply prefer to play games that have PC design as the priority.

I don't understand what you say.
Maybe I said it wrongly, so recap: I said it is your loss if you deny yourself the game over the lack of an official forum and I conclude that you don't like the game that much anyway, or else you wouldn't let this get in the way of your enjoyment of the game. No forum sucks, but the GoG forum is so kind to take care of us in the meantime, although the forum is not well suited for that. That's something, isn't it?

My apologies. I thought you were attempting to bait me. My misunderstanding.

I didn't actually deny myself the game due to the lack of forums. I finished the game twice, but as I said, it wasn't what I was expecting. I'm glad that you have found enjoyment from the game.

One thing I would like to mention though, is that there are three links on the official Witcher2 community page, none of them point to GoG forums. I'm not sure why they don't point people here rather than to other sites. Apart from that, I agree that these forums are a great place and form a fantastic community. Cheers. :)

mute688: Too late. Game shelved.
Drama queen.

Seriously, dude. A bit of an overreaction?

It really is to late. Most people who have had problems will have found an answer by now or abandoned the game in frustration. In the modern gaming age a farce like this is still an eye opener. A slick operation this is not. If they fail to get something as simple as a forum up an running for going on 5/6 weeks it really makes you wonder what type of people are really in charge. Not ones that I feel confident giving any more money too that's for sure.

No one cares.

Thanks for the update CDP.

The main purpose of TW2 forums would have been tech support, but that has more or less been handled here at GoG, plus they have been posting tech support over at their placeholder site. So I'm not getting my panties in a bundle just yet. I do wonder why it has taken them so long though.

I don't think it's a 'drama queen' situation. It's been a full month since the game was released and the official forums have been down for longer than that. Very likely the vast majority of people are finished playing the game and have since moved on to something else.

The Witcher/CDPR fans are still going to hang around the official forum when it finally is up and running, but CDPR had them anyway. What they're losing is the new audience and the likely significant amount of people that may have not already been Witcher/CDPR fans and could have become hardcore forumites. Those people will likely move on now and not look back.

So yes, too little too late for a lot of players.

Did you not say the same thing before? In the end it have been handled in a way that kinda reminds me of kindergarden children, no focus, no solution, no temporary fixes, lack of information. All these things should have been done MONTHS before release date. With lots of testing to be sure that you were done with the new website / forum before you took them down. And the moment you noticed that it would not work you should have put the old forums back up.

And the problem cant have been that large. it have been what? 6 weeks to take the forums up. So unless you did not have them done in the first place (and then i have to question how you guys could be that stupid) then it should not have taken this long. Yes problems come up... But every day you seem to have a new problem something else to test. Forums are not that complicated to make. Hell people got forced to make new accounts.

Overall you guys probably do not care by now (or else you would have put up the old forums within a day or two of the release). One can only question why the lead people would decide something stupid like this.

Over-reaction? No. Not in the slightest. I've finished the game twice, I've uninstalled and put the game on the shelf. I no longer have an interest in the forums. Hence the "too late" comment. If I had not played the game because there were no forums, then yes, that would be an over-reaction. You're response seems to be an over-reaction though.
At the time I posted, you hadn't clarified what you meant. It did read like a whine beforehand.
CDPR is smart. They pulled down the official forums on release so that they don't have to deal with people nerdraging and bouncing off the walls. If you believe that actual "work" is being done to put up "new" forums, you are naive.

They are simply letting GOG and other related sites can deal with the initial wave of rage. C'mon, you KNOW that the official forums would be flooded with QQ, "OMG refunt nao plox", "fix mah gmae nao ceedeepeer" and related drivel in about five minutes.

Forums will probably come up after 1.3, if 1.3 squashes the remaining common issues (like command lag and such).
So you think they want the forms to be complaint free, showing the game as a perfect release? If that's the case they will be sorely disappointed as I am sure many will make sure the truth is conveyed across.
No, it won't be complaint-free, it'll be not quite as full of nerdrage as it would've been on Day 1.
