Kirin_Persus: SO still no official forums. 1 week after release. Have they put them on hold so they fix the disaster that was the launcher/DLC servers and bug ridden (for most) game? In all my years gaming I have never seen anything like it. Needs a bump as it's still an important part of the unfortunate launch fiasco.
The game is not "bug ridden". Where do you get that from? Yes, there are issues, but nothing game breaking. It has always played fine for me, pre and post patch. Now the forums, yes that is an issue................

For me it has bugs and crashes galore. Less so since patch 1.1. I guess you are just one of the lucky ones.

There are a LOT of lucky ones, and a few unlucky ones. Is this your first PC game? It is a rather complex system to design software for.

Yeap first ever game I bought in my entire life. I tried playing it in my DVD player cause it was DVD shaped. Honestly next time try not to be so condescending in your reply. It's a discussion, no flame wars here. Yes it's a complex system to design for but they get paid good money to do it. They put it on the market as a complete game ready for sale. I bought it and found it to be anything but ready for sale, I will say no more on it in this thread. This thread is about the forums would be nice to get an update on those. I am sure it's a seperate team working on them.

I suppose you should play more game. The Witcher 2 is one of the lesser bug-ridden games released in years.

Also I think the lack of official witcher 2 forum at the moment has nothing to do with technical problem (designing an web forum is obviously childplay to the creators of the Witcher series). It is probably intended that the customers of the game should familiarize with the awesome Gog.com and its forum. What is the point of official forum if the game can just do as well with its section at Gog forum (and bring many new customers to gog's catalogue)?

Just was clarifying. Thought maybe you had never played a PC title in all those years. Sometimes certain configurations have more problems than others.

Sadly I have a cupboard stacked floor to celing with pc games from The original castle wolfenstien to the witcher 2 testifiying to my misspent 20's and 30's and all those lost years to gaming. And the statment above was more aimed at the forum situation and not the game situation. I can't say I remember any title I have bought in the internet age that didn't have a forum up and running this far into release.

I'll give you that, but It's the only game I have been tempted to buy in the past year since call of duty Clones etc don't do it for me. Sadly I have had a lt of problems with bugs etc as I stated so unfortunately it didn't feel like it at the time to me.

No offense meant at all. This is a genuine question. What do you think you would get from a forum hosted at TheWitcher.com that you can't get here?

I think if you are not finding satisfactory help from other users here, you should be talking directly to CDPr or GoG support.

Good question. I just feel the gog forums have been deluged by users who might only have joined these forums to get info or vent their spleen. I guess as it would be the Official forums then possibly a more direct connection with the development team or their representitves. Sometimes just a reply to a thread is enough to help. I always like a strong community developer dialogue. The longer the Lack of an official forum goes the stronger my worry grows that their is something deeper with reguards to underliying problems. As I stated I just find it very strange that such a strong developer doesn't have an offical forum up and running this far into release.

Anyway off to see try and get patch 1.2 up and running as I heard it is now live. I have faith most of my problems will vanish after this one. : )
The big cheeses at CDPR probably have been to the Dragon Age 2 forums and are scareg to start one of their own,

A valid concern, I must say. One but needs to look at the 15-page-and-still-running thread about the removal of Islamic textures. That being said, there are a lot of helpful people around although I wished there were subforums to make things more organized.
