I really like that waterfall-wall passage under the fountain. I'm gonna have to steal that for my next base.

Agree.


The posts in this thread are both inspirational and demotivational - as in, I'm impressed as hell and see some cool ideas, but I'll likely never make anything near as nice.

actually the castle didn't take long to build. i gathered a lot of stuff over the last year and finally did something with it. searching for materials in my chests is time consuming, though.

Started again recently, there is so much new junk now with all the wood types and furniture, even getting started is pretty overwhelming. But I got a little village going, the Demo man took the igloo and the fisherman stole what was gonna be my room. So I started a new house for myself in the corrupted area where they aren't likely to steal it from me.

You know that if you go into the housing menu you can move them around wherever you want, right? If you right-click the little face-banner in their room it'll evict them, and you can manually assign their locations as well.

Yeah I know, but there's nowhere else for him at the moment, and I kinda like to let them choose where to live if there is a choice. Then I usually decorate the room around them to suit, I just had already decorated that room and had my bed in there before, for some reason I kept respawning at the original spawn though even after removing and resetting the spawn point and the bed several times.

This is my WIP pearly castle. It started out as just a simple fortress for my NPC's, a simple house for me and the start of a tower to the sky.

I've been playing again lately, and made a desert temple. It's serves as a safe house to explore the desert underground.
