I love symmetry.
I also love rain, though.

Unbroken again, is it?

Slightly changed it, more symmetry with the lava. When the new update gets here tomorrow I may ditch the whole thing and start over.

Careful. You let that Angler asshole hang out in your house too much, he'll start to think he's people. =D

Oh, I love glowy things as well. Nice touch with the mushrooms.

I don't mind him as much as the Party Girl. Her, I either dump on a cloud or, in one case, I built her a tiny dungeon room underground.

Amusingly enough, after one of my Party Girls got killed, her replacement moved into a house on one of the little sky islands on her own. I have no use for her, so I just let her stay there. Though I just realized that my Dryad moved to the other sky island after I (presumably) invalidated her previous room by accidentally removing a section of wall very briefly. The upshot is that, without her around, I no longer have to feel so bad about "accidentally" killing bunnies and birds while running around cutting the grass around my house looking for fishing bait.

I have actually started fishing in the game, though, so the Angler could potentially serve a purpose...eventually. Currently, the bastard's only "rewarded" me with coralstone blocks. >:/ (And no, I don't wish to be told what awesome thing he will eventually give me, if there is one. ;D )

That's awesome, especially the mini mushroom garden, which I guess is where you wanted to put the shark, uhm I mean goldfish, aquarium :)

I don't know if you noticed but I would guess that as you approach your base everything would start to get slightly darker? That happened to me when I planted glowing mushroom seeds next to my base. I found it was because after a certain point that part of my base turned into a surface mushroom biome, which is in perpetual darkness irregardless the time of day.
I'm currently working on a new base of operations/crafting area.

Picture 1 is the old storage area. It looks fancy, but it's kinda terrible, as it barely supports any of the new game features, isn't organized, and is a bit of a pain to quick stack items into.

Picture 2 is my firsthand attempt at making something that looks pretty, but my plans were halted when I realized there really isn't a stone theme for furniture, so I changed the slab area into a foyer/grand entrance. Beyond that, I plan to make a marble themed area that will contain a new storage/crafting area. The problem with that is that my main world was made back in 1.2. So I have to gather it offworld.

Picture 3 is is my current base of operations and what used to be my living quarters. I shared them with the pirate. Most of it was copy and pasted in TEdit from the bottom base and then later customized for visual variety, but a floating box does not make for a pretty or creative base. The gold gravestone is from only (failed) attempt I've made to kill Moon George.

You might notice the odd sandstone walls. I used the 'settle sand' feature of TEedit, and it collapsed the connecting floors. So I replaced them.

Most of my items are not legit, but the building materials are for the most part, legit. As mostly a builder, I can't be bothered with the 'monsters' aspect of the game, hence why I recently skipped a solar eclipse with an enchanted sundial. A peaceful/Sandbox mode would be nice.

Most of the stuff he gives you are items that improve your fishing abilities or decorative stuff, with certain fixed rewards at 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 fish turned in for a specific character.

The real benefit of fishing is that some of them are used for really good buff potions. The Angler quests are only really useful if you're looking to improve your fishing abilities so you have an easier time getting those potions.

Which isn't something entirely bad. At least once you go into Hardmode.
I caused a small tsunami and the angler slept through it
