UPDATE 22.04.2011:
We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:
fixed problems with logging on,
the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.

UPDATE #2 (22.04.2011):
Version 0.9.0.1224 is out, introducing some backend fixes.

DaveHeld: Looking for solution. When I try and download my game to the downloader. I get a small windows box that says " (EI41): bad signature" . I've tried removing the downloader and reinstalling but still get the same response. Thoughts ?

photoleia: I have gotten that with King's Bounty and have not been able to fix it either. That is the only game I've been having problems with though, and it is isolated to the downloader download alone ... not the browser download.
I'm having this problem with Kings Quest 4+5+6 and Kings Quest 7+8. All the other games I bought are working fine though.

Maybe it's restricted to games with the work "King" in their name :p

Maybe, but why do I have the same problem with Interstate 76 then? :)

Also found King's Bounty not working with the downloader..

You just had to find the one flaw in my arguement ;)

And yes, King's Bounty is the one that I've had issues with. It downloaded fine through the browser, the GOG downloader just doesn't like it for some reason.

Are the servers overloaded or something? I've left the downloader (0.9.0.1376) on for three days (~seventy-two hours) downloading The Witcher: EE, and it's been stuck at 3402/8597MB. It says "Online/Downloading", and I've tried fiddling between 1 and 10 concurrent connections, just in case it "needed more" or "could only handle less", but it hasn't helped. I've also tried "Running as Admin".

Windows 7 x64 w/SP1
Microsoft Security Essentials
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro

[EDIT]
Well, now it seems to be taking off, but in fits and starts. I can only leave it on between 2am and 7am because of my hideously restrictive ISP transfer cap (the Free Zone is between the times just mentioned), so my experience probably varies wildly from the average user.

Downloaded the specified ZIP file, then extracted it. The version.txt and the .exe file version still state version 0.9.0.1218 and NOT 0.9.0.1224.

You should grab version 0.9.0.1376 instead. That's the latest at the moment, and you'll be glad to know it has the right version information.

You know, you can always download the latest version directly from your shelf.
Thanks.

I am unable to find the GOG.com app link from the shelf. It use to come up when downloading but I checked the box not to show the message again.

So I ran into a problem because the GOG downloader did not respond to check for an update. My only resort was to come to the forum for the latest link. :)

Got it working now and it's downloading my purchases.

Cudo's to you for adding the URL in the post. Thanks.
Glad I could help.

You can get to that box again by clicking on the little question mark to the right the "add to GOG.com Downloader" link in the shelf's download menu. It's not exactly obvious, but it's easy to get to once you know where to look.
Ok i am new to the GOG Downloader, my game finished downloading so i clicked the gray "Install" link at the bottom. nothing happened. i right clicked the download and chose launch installer. again nothing. restarted my comp too

Looks like your post got buried. Did you manage to come right or are you still stuck with that problem?

I've never experienced that issue, so I can't suggest a fix, but there is something you can try to work around it. Open up the folder where the downloader saved your installer and run it directly from there. Hopefully that will either work or give some insight into the cause of the problem.

I have been having the same problem as you. Bought this game more than a month ago but I still have this problem. Did your problem resolve on it's own?
I have started a support ticket too but I get a reply once a week there asking for additional information which I provide immediately and then I have to keep reminding them to please rely to my email before they reply in about a weeks time.

I was not able to resolve the issue with the Downloader. However, I was able to get the files through the "Download from browser" using the method detailed in this post. I ran it a little long, but if you read all the way through and follow the instructions, it works just fine.

Thanks a lot Predcon. You saved me a lot of time I would have wasted downloading this game at 0kb/sec.
Downloading through FDM is a good idea but considering the fact that I have a relatively slow download connection, I think it will have the timeout error really often. Is it ok to download this through torrents? How will I authenticate my game if I do?
