UPDATE 22.04.2011:
We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:
fixed problems with logging on,
the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.

UPDATE #2 (22.04.2011):
Version 0.9.0.1224 is out, introducing some backend fixes.

Yeah, the can´t log in with the gog downloader either - maybe the server just got overloaded. but html download works fine. and really fast, too.
best regards
nope, doesnt work, cant login.
same issue here cant login to downloader despite getting the info correct
its working for me now, at least the the login part havent tried to download anything because i am downloading via browser and it works just fine
Kept asking me for my email/password. Finally tried turning off windows firewall ( Windows 7 64-bit). This seems to have fixed it.

This is why it needs to say what the error was. I had no way of knowing it was a connection issue.
So, it wasn't a client-sided issue? My apologies to you for my previous post.
Downloader is now letting me in and appears to be working fine

Yup, adding it to windows firewall exceptions for all types of networks made login work.
Would be nice if you could make win trigger a pop-up about it in future versions. ;)
<edit> problem seems to have gone away by itself!

Yes, It's working now.
Magic O.o
I logged in with the downloader, but now I don't know exactly how to start the preload for the witcher 2... any suggestion?
p.s. the last version seems to be , you should fix that even in the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/support/website_help/downloads_and_games]support page (as there are 2 different links to 2 different versions of the downloader), or better make a big page with links from all over gog site only to the downloader. It's really hard to find it otherwise.

The gog downloader links appear to be broken when using my preferred browser. In Opera 11.10 when I click the green "add to GOG.com Downloader" link on my account page I get an error that says "No registered application for this extension." and then nothing happens. Everything works fine in FireFox though. I'm using the latest build of the gog downloader 0.9.9.1372

I have the downloader installed and everything. But when I push "add Game to Downloader" nothing happens. And the downloader says I'm online and everything. I'm using firefox.

With Firefox I had the same problem, now I tried Internet Explorer and it works.

For me I got nothing on Firefox(probably just ignores it since it doesn't work)

On IE I get an basically an error report that says "gogdownloader://the_witcher_2/ is not a valid win32 application" and this happens with any game I try for my account of course instead of witcher 2 part is would say other game name
