UPDATE 22.04.2011:
We have uploaded a new version of the Downloader (0.9.0.1218). Please download it at your convenience and let us know if any of the problems you experienced earlier still persist.
Major changes include:
fixed problems with logging on,
the Downloader no longer attempts to move files after changing the destination folder,
you can now change the number of concurrent downloads (1 to 10) in the Downloader's options, in case you think the Downloader is overusing your connection.


UPDATE #2 (22.04.2011):
Version 0.9.0.1224 is out, introducing some backend fixes.

Guys, please, don't force me to use something that's not working properly! I can't login neither on my old PC with Win XP Pro nor on laptop with Vista Home Basic (both 32 bit). My pass includes characters like: ! & $.

I can remember someone reported similar problem few days ago. One would have thought it's a simple thing to fix... I have an impression that you're pushing to make this new downloader official despite being not finished before releasing Witcher games. That's disappointing.

Please make it work again as soon as possible so users can enjoy old (and not so old) games without any obstacles.
Actually I think this happened because they released the game a few hours early for non EU customers. I will re-try within 3 hours.

yes i cant log in either with the downloader, i rarely use it though since it so buggy, it is more buggy than the air version at least you you could log in there :)

same issue.

new user, just bought the witcher EE off here.

cannot login with correct credentials. The website works fine though with login info.

Unfortunately it is 5am in the US at the moment so they might not be able to even look into a fix for a few more hours? (im assuming gog and its support staff is US based?)

No, GOG.com is led by a sister company of the polish publisher and developer CD Project (the makers of The Witcher). It's 11am there.

Another person who cannot log in, here. It simply asks for my email and password over and over again.

Some responses would be useful. "Unsupported character" "username or password incorrect", "cannot connect to server" etc. I have no idea what could even be going wrong.

Wow, I guess the release of The Witcher drew in a ton of new people. I was waiting for it to go on sale myself, and thought my problems with the downloader were just because it was the new version. I guess it's just GOG's servers being overloaded. Kinda bummed I couldn't get the download started and go to bed, though.

+1 for the login problem.... It persists regardless of using the lastest version, removing settings from registery, and making sure the old Adobe AIR downloader was uninstallled first.


Not impressed; AIR version wasn't perfect, but at least it worked.

I gave up and started the download via browser (downthemall on mozilla firefox) and it runs fine.

Hi,
Same problem here: just bought TW EE, click "add to gog dowloader", but the dl-er won't let me login. So I update to version 0.9.0.1372, and still doesn't work.

EDIT: Well, now it's working. Is it because it's past noon in my timezone, and the game was supposed to be released at noon? Yet I've been dl-ing via browser for one hour already.
