Games that completely miss the mark set by their predacessor and pissed us off to no end shoudl be known as pulling a what?

Having come off of Hotline Miami, I was stoked for the second. After the 22nd sequence I could not bring myself to finish it. I was miserably chugging through the poorly designed levels and fucked up controls.

I found it to be a truly awfull sequel in the gameplay department. The music though was superb so I'll give it that at least. But that didn't stop it from making it into my list of all time biggest gaming dissapointments alongside Alone in The Dark and Mass Efect 3.

This may tie into some of your greatest dissapointments in gaming oddly enough.

So what do you think are some of gaming's worst sequels?

Off the top of my head, from what I've read, Sacred 3 sounds pretty damn ridiculously awful
Master of Orion 3

Darksiders II, they really should have given death proper scythe. Darksiders 1 scythe felt more scythe-yer in comparison. Plus that random loot drop thing was irritating to me, for some unknown reason. And that color scheme was horrid, who thought violet and bright green was a good combination.

Ikari Warriors 2: Victory Road
Oh wait I think have a good one : 2013's Simcity
Half-Life 2: Episode One ( boring ending )
Half-Life 2: Episode Two ( boring ending )
Portal 2 ( i only liked the old Aperture Science maps , hated Wheatley )
Dark Souls - wasn't it a follow up to another game, Demon Souls. I do know its on my top ten worst offenders list alongside such classics as GTA4.
high rated
World of Warcraft
Gothic 4.

I bought it when it was released.
I was super excited.
I'm an idiot.
Blood II was pretty bad. It completely missed the point of the first Blood game, and it ruined the series. -_- They tried to make it "cyberpunk" for some reason. I guess that was the only type of style the old LithTech engine could handle!

Just no...

Personally speaking, Mass Effect 2 ruined the mystique and ending of the original game. The gameplay itself was solid but a five year old could of wrote that story.
Dungeon Keeper Mobile

Actually, any series that tacks "Mobile" on to the end of its name qualifies.

well said!
Mass Effect 2.

They removed too many of the things I really liked about the first game, I did not like the storyline in the slightest, and the narration itself was terrible in comparison to the first game. It spoiled the whole series for me, I don't even feel like replaying the first game.
