tfishell: I'd like to think GOG having the weekend promo early somehow connects to a new batch of WB, Bethesda, Disney etc. releases tomorrow, but there's probably no connection. x-P

Marioface5: Judas confirmed in another thread that we're getting a "wee bit of a trickling" this week, though it's not part of the upcoming "flood" of games. So something big should be happening!
Hopefully one or two exciting releases happen. I've tried to avoid my "broken record" complaining, but despite getting continually getting good games, I personally still haven't felt all that excited about releases in some time. (Darkest Dungeon was very nice b/c of so many votes, as well as Project Zomboid and Starbound despite being in-dev. But I keep hoping GOG will get some stuff from "big" publishers besides the "regulars" like Nordic [though obviously Titan Quest, Sup Commander, Imperium Galactica, and others would be most welcome].)

But I'm far from a heavy spender around here, so I probably shouldn't speak too loud. :P

Leroux: And apart from the supposedly awesome improvements, any disadvantages the Enhanced version of D:OS has over the old version (e.g. regarding compatibility)? I take it you can't get both version in one package anymore, if you didn't already own D:OS at the time EE was released, right? (And you can't get the original version on GOG anymore?)
There's a notice in the download section saying that you should contact the GOG staff if you'd like access to the regular 32 bit version.

Leroux: I know this is probably the wrong place to ask for unbiased answers, but if we disregard anything DRM for a moment (including the fact that even the Steam version is not tied to Steamworks), are there any differences between the GOG and the Steam version of Divinity: Original Sin, any advantages, disadvantages that one version has over the other? E.g. multiplayer, modding support, extras etc.?
The Steam version supports online multiplayer, while the GOG version is limited to Direct IP and LAN.

I can relate. I thought for sure that we'd finally get more from WB on the 12th since that marked one year since they joined, and we even had an early weekend promo that week, but then nothing. I'm hoping that the upcoming flood of releases involves a lot of stuff from big publishers. There are so many that still aren't on GOG, and even the ones that are on here have tons of games missing.

As for this week, with the recent Nordic releases and (more importantly) Deep Silver's release of Risen 3 last week, I'm thinking we might see another shared event from them. Maybe the rest of the Saints Row and Red Faction games will finally show up, perhaps along with Titan Quest and/or Dead Island.

Thanks!

Btw, how important is the co-op element in D:OS? Is it much more fun to play with a friend, or is it just as enjoyable or even more so in single player, if that's usually your preferred gaming mode?

Unfortunately, I can't answer that, as I haven't played the game all that much.

I can't answer that but what I can say is that what they've got planned for the sequel is what I've ever wanted from a multi-player game:
In D:OS2 the multi-player mode is supposed to be very dynamic in that you can decide in-game if you want to play co-operatively or competitively with some or all other player.s You can split up from your pals and travel the land independently, you can double cross them, steal from them, have them arrested or attack them.

Since what they've shown from the sequel's multi-player mode is amazing, I'd assume that the prequel's multi-player mode should have something going for it as well.

Only tried t once and my partner desperately tried to fuck with me so I can´t say anything positive, but I bet if you play with someone "competent" you´ll have lots of fun.
But I´d say it´s just as enjoyable if you play solo. You can do your own style, try your own combos, in co-op you really have to comunicate to get things to work.

Now I want to install that game again. :)

I was going to ignore the sale...except I checked my bank account:

Federal. Tax. Refund. Electronic transfer. TWO WEEKS EARLY.

(Like the sad gaming nerd that I am): "Let's see - for the iMac I'm getting Armello, FINALLY getting Divinity: Original Sin...screw it! Getting the Enhanced Edition! Dust: An Elysian Tale...wait don't I have the Humble Bundle copy? (deletes HB/Steam key copy). Okay, Legend of Grimrock, Not a Hero"..., and for my Windows machines..."

Has anyone tried the GOG version of Sins of a Solar Empire yet? Have you encountered any missing sound issues?
At last Linux users got an opportunity to buy Divinity: Original Sin with discount. It was released on Steam (the Linux version) with discount, but on GOG it was released at full price while they really had to give Linux users some price reduction for the huge delay. I'll buy it now.
This looks like a great collection of games on sale - good choices, Jesse Cox!

Does anyone have opinions on Divinity: Dragon Commander? I thought the game looked pretty cool when it came out, but a lot of the reviews suggested the execution was a bit lackluster. Have there been updates that address many of the earlier complaints?
