timppu: Age of Wonders 3: so if I want the cheapest pack with all the gaming content (no interest in soundtracks, making-of videos etc.), what are the versions to get?
avatar
Gydion: All gaming content? You would need to pre-order it. Supposedly, Elven Resurgence is minor thing that doesn't really matter. I have also heard that about Dragon's Throne. However, I can't speak to it personally.
Thanks, that also helped me make up my mind. No AoW3 for me for now, I'll wait for some kind of version which involves less pondering what exactly to buy.

I also turned down Sins of the Solar Empire for now due to currently reported problems (e.g. the weapon sounds), I'll get back to it when those are fixed.

I bought

- Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (vanilla)
- Kholat
- Not A Hero (vanilla)
- X Rebirth (another ongoing promo)

this time. I admit I ended up buying Not A Hero due to its funny trailer video, not sure if I will care about the game but who knows.

I'd be interested to hear your opinion on those, assuming you're actually going to play them.

Matruchus: Ah, it seems gog is getting ready for the march release and sales season. Still interesting sale but a pass for me.
thanks for reminding. :D

Just in case you're interested in opinions fullstop, Not a Hero is awesome, assuming you like (or at least can tolerate), to quote a reviewer, the "monkey cheese type of humor".

It's a fast-paced run and gun (not a platformer -- no jumping).
Levels are handmade and are unlocked sequentially, but there are three extra objectives to a level and you're strongly encouraged to complete all three (in a single run!), as better performance unlocks characters sooner.
Characters have different abilities. I think some are strictly better than others, although YMMV.
There's a potential mild spiral of fail in that some missions are tailored for a particular character, and if you haven't unlocked them yet (few extra objectives completed over previous levels), you won't be able to do well in this level for some time (until you win enough subsequent levels to unlock this level's must-have character).
Some levels are timed, some are not. The game is fast either way.
UI design is perfect, zero annoyance, instant reloads on demand, skippable story parts, unlocked levels are replayable at your leisure.
Typically, you're dropped into a level with no knowledge of its layout or script, explore it over several retries, find the objectives and determine the optimal route, then retry until you win.
Sound design is pure awesomesauce. Everyone shouts, swears, enemies plead, it's simply wonderful. Wear headphones if kids are around.

Difficulty gauge: I'm playing with the xbox controller and doing okay, although it does take time. I've played for 7 hours and completed about 2/3 of the campaign.

TL;DR this game is purrfect (so far) and other devs should learn from it.
Well, it's looking like I was wrong. For the second time this month, we have an early weekend promo and nothing to show for it. I'm sorry to anyone whose hopes I got up. Maybe I just misunderstood what Judas meant in that other thread.
I think the promo should've been named "Jesse Picks Cox".

Ffs GOG if I'm going to buy a game I will, but shoving talentless youtubers down my throat every time you want to have promotion is going to have the opposite effect ... I don't care if its Total fuckwit , Jesse Cockbrain or any other useless youtube fucker ... stop it , just fucking stop it.

This site is slowly going down the fucking pan ......

Fairfox: I've no idea who these people are, but if I get sales out of it they could be Krampus or the Butt Monster for all I care. Your anger is disproportionate to sanity :/
That's your prerogative ... ;)

It's okay, for every one of you, the store gains ten more customers trough these deals :-)

Did not he mention in some thread, that they are merely testing several setups of the weekend promo to see what works well?

That would explain the weird promo times then. I just figured it had to do with the "trickle" (compared to the upcoming "flood" of games) that Judas mentioned here. Either the trickle was delayed, or I misunderstood and it had nothing to do with any major releases.
