fronzelneekburm: Has anyone here played the Walking Dead games? In a lapse of proper judgement, I decided to get them yesterday, despite thinking that "The Wolf Among Us" is one of the worst things I ever played.

If someone played "The Walking Dead", please answer me this:

- Does it use shakycam, especially during dialogues?

- Does the gameplay consist of: watch 5 minute cutscene, click on multiple choice dialogue while time runs out, watch another cutscene, multiple choice, cutscene, 5 seconds of actual "gameplay" (ie. walking from Point A to Point B), cutscene, QTE, cutscene, dialogue, cutscene, cutscene, cutscene,...?
from what I'm told you play one telltale game you've played them all.........just diff settings.....

Why am I still here? I've probably missed things I would have bought simply due to lapses in focus through the sheer brute force of the repetition... not even the previous insomnia sales were this hard to sit through...
Probably going to miss Sins of a Solar Empire again, but goodnight everybody!
yeah if it keeps this way no one will miss anything ...

kennydrawsbriskly: Maybe they can rebrand as Good "Original" Games (and movies)? :D

But I love how they keep the classic games alive (and DRM-free).
avatar
yellowblanka: I just wish they switched the focus BACK to securing licenses for classic games - their classic catalog is nowhere near complete (and pretty thin in certain genres), and the classic releases have slowed to a trickle. There's no shortage of storefronts that sell/specialize in independent games, and I have no problem with "indie" games (in fact, some of my favorite games released in recent years have come from independent developers), but what made Good Old Games special was the fact that there was finally a place to buy legitimate re-releases of classic titles.
My new stock explanation (from one of the most recent "GOG why u no get old games no more?" topics) for why old games seem to be released more rarely these days (SPOILER: they aren't).

avatar
yellowblanka: If you haven't noticed Good "Old" Games is now mostly indie titles/movies with dash of AAA and a sprinkling of classic games for spice every once in a while.
avatar
kennydrawsbriskly: What appealed to me most about GOG was the DRM-Free concept. But I think they are putting focus on movies and other stuff because other services like Humble are now offering DRM Free products too.
They haven't added a movie to the store since last summer, AFAIR (and movie releases were few and far between even by then), and they almost never promote the existing movies these days, even in big sales.
Basically, their experiment in selling DRM-free films is all but dead (or, at the very least, in deep hibernation =) ).

Niggles: Pretty much this, although there are tiny signs certain games are taking longer to clear ie Kerbal

xep624: I was surprised how slow was Divinity Original Sin EE going... Yesterday everything was disappearing so fast I couldn't enter Credit Card numbers fast enough...
But to be honest - insomnia is nothing that new now and Easter is coming right now, so lots of people have other things to do now. I'm happy how many more titles are there on sale and I would be ecstatic if a few more would join GOG.com - i.e. Endless Legend
Im with you about Endless Legend :).

Have to consider what to do for Easter tho... cant visit family as its a fullhouse.literally...

Well, I played Walking Dead First Season, but haven't finished it. I don't like to be rushed while I play a game (yes, I prefer to play Turn Based Games much more than action) and honestly you sum up the gameplay pretty much - cutscenes, QTEs and quick choices. You play this game for the story - that's why Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, etc. are so popular. Oh, and yes there is shaky cam from time to time.

Thanks for Endless Legend - I'm postponing my decision to buy this game for a year or so - I hope that in the meantime it will be released here.
I'll say you're still lucky to have free time during Easter - I'll be working all those days (I work in the kitchen of aged care) and I hope that you will spend that spare time in a good, relaxing way!

Exoanthrope: Wow, that seems to add a lot of content as well. +1

I've never played any Saints Row game before, but after learning a little more about it, it seems really fun.
avatar
kennydrawsbriskly: I've read on Reddit that the mod is installed on the GOG version of Saints Row 2 by default. Try it out and I hope it works for you. :)
No, Gentlemen of the Row is not pre-installed in the GOG version.
we been Kerbalized!!
HOORAY! I'm caught up with this thread for the first time since yesterday morning!
Now off to bed, so I can find myself 30 pages behind again by the time I check in tomorrow! :P

Haven't bought a thing yet, nor seen anything I can't live without. =)
So the sale runs until stock runs out... Of digital games... But does anyone know how long it is expected to last? Another day or two or the whole week?

Of course if Kerbal pops up again, we will be here until May.
Yep Kerbal is keening .... Well I have lost count how many times I have seen this game on sale, but it's been like 5 or something... But anyway I appreciate that they display the genre of the next game - that's some exciting stuff. However I miss so much the hype and shocks of the older Insomnia sales - like when 2000 !! copies of NeverWinter Nights 2 went in 3 minutes or so.... And the amount of comments exceeding 20k...
