I'm in for Eschalon: Book I. I haven't played any of those games so far but I played the Eschalon demo wich looked interesting. I liked it so it ended up on my wishlist. Thank you for the chance.

I always have tendency to play TBS instead of RTS because I can multi-task with jobs in hand.
never played these classics so you can enter me for anything (preferably first in the series) so I might have a look at their sequels later.

I've played Avernum: The Complete Saga and Avadon: The Black Fortress. However, I find Avernum the more compelling series, particularly enjoying Blades. As such, I'm in for Avernum: Escape from the Pit. I'm also happy with the Geneforge Saga, though would prefer the former.

I loved Blades, playing the first mission about seven times on the shareware demo alone, lol. The storyline was fantastic and the battles were fun. It (along with Avernum 3) have the least disorientating camera as well, with it sticking to the player as they go along - something I'm not so keen on when it comes to the later games as it snaps after a few moves.

I'd have to double-check, but I think if you've already played the two trilogies you probably won't get much out of "Escape from the pit" which is a re-write of part of the first trilogy, just with upgraded tech and UI.

(That said, I played the trilogies (and Exile) long ago, and Escape from the pit recently, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm in Avadon 2: The Corruption

I tried Geneforge and finished one early version of Avernum series, probably 4. It is ok but the interface for the series is a but dated.

What I liked about that series was that it was an indie effort, and it shows , the graphics were minor but it has a wide open world .

Geneforge has more character but the interface was worse :P

Not in, I don't feel very isometric at the moment, but they look like a bunch of great games to share. +1

I am in for Eschalon: Book II
The only one I played of the list is the first eschalon. I like how you have so much choice for what you do and the story plays out like a mystery As you peaice together your missing memory. I always want to try the secon one since I like the first one.

I bought Eschalon Book 2 and honestly hated it. It seemed like one long grind to me with very little story. The Avernum games look interesting though. Can anyone tell me about this and other series? How is the story, the setting, the mechanics, etc?

Not much experience with those games. In fact I haven't played any of those. But Avadon series is on my top of backlog. Closely followed by Geneforge. What I read about, both are excellent cRPGs.
