In "Raising Steam" he gathered Moist von Lipwig, the wizards, Sam Vimes, Havelock Vetinari and some other characters of note as if to say farewell to them.
An outstanding writer with an exquisite sense of humor.
May he rest in peace.

He was BEST of the best writers. Discworld was my favorite fantasy series.
Yesterday I finished third time Maskerade.

I am very surprised by this news. I knew about his illness, but I never imagined it would claim his life so soon. I was sure there are quite a few books left in him, so to speak. Very sad news. I guess it's time to read the Discworld again from the start, as it is over an closed now.
I'm shocked too, I never realised he was at that point.
I'm deeply saddened, we have lost not only a brilliant author but an amazing and intelligent human being.
He played a part in shaping who I am today, and he will be sorely missed.

Terry Pratchett was a great author, it's sad to hear that he passed away. :(
