StingingVelvet: I refuse to believe Lucas is the savior, since the prequels were horrible for the most part and he had the least to do with the best original trilogy movie. Also I think the fans are kind of confused about what they want, because Solo was by far the most "original trilogy feeling" movie, and it tanked and gets mocked constantly.

In any event, looking forward to watching The Mandalorian when all the episodes are out.
Well, we can agree to disagree on that. I could speak volumes about the prequels... both good and bad. IMO it's clear through games and movies what happens when corporations (Disney and EA) completely take over Lucas' passion... and the course correction is telling.

Again, I don't agree on Solo. I thought the movie was a misguided mess... and still can't fathom why a Solo series was commenced after the character (my favorite character BTW) was killed in the mainline movies. Why would you start a potential series after killing the character? IMO makes no sense whatsoever.

But... I can tell you for certain that Lucas is behind-the-scenes now... and has been since TLJ. Lucas' contract with Disney has always been as a consultant but Iger brought him in more directly since TLJ.

Anyway...

... glad Fallen Order isn't a waste of time and energy.

Hillsy_: True, if you are locked onto an enemy.

StingingVelvet: Never locked onto an enemy once the whole game.
Did you never lock on in Dark Souls or Demon Souls too? The combat is trying essentially to be Dark Souls, but you didn't lock on even once? Not even fighting the purple staff pure trooper on Jedi Master or Grandmaster setting??

Another problem with Jedi Fallen Order is crowd control with the combat. Dark Souls combat is used to exploit your opponent weakness on a mostly one-to-one situation. Very rarely would you face multiple opponents like in Jedi Fallen. One example, I'm talking Jedi Master/Grandmaster settings here; two flame snowtroopers, two stormtroopers, AT-ST walker, a droid I can never remember the name of and some biker scouts. Yes, you can prioritise who to attack first, but the combat doesn't fit and gives way to frustration. Remember, Star Wars is suppose to be fun, it is not a Dark Souls game after all. I feel the game is trying too hard to be uncharted, Tomb Raider and Dark Souls rolled into one. Maybe Jedi Fallen Order has an identifty crisis. Dark Souls much like Demon Souls was clear as to the games appeal and to what it was trying to achieve. Jedi Fallen Order falls into repetition and doesn't achieve anything worthy of note. I did like the Walker section though which was fun for about one and a half minutes. :)

I never played Dark Souls much, I'm not really into hack n' slash controller style games really. It was Star Wars that pulled me in with this one. I played on one difficulty setting up from normal, so Jedi Master I guess? No I never locked on after trying it a couple times, it seemed unnecessary and clunky. I just dodged and spun the camera myself.
My friends and I were split on this game. One thought that Battlefront II had a better campaign.

I thought that not only was this my favorite Star Wars game since Dark Forces II in the 90's, but that it was also my favorite movie of the pre-episode-4 era (since it has such an amazing plot and great cutscenes).

What do you think?

I tried the campaign of BF2 for 30 minutes. The gameplay feels like a modern twitchy military-style shooter. I quit and didn't even care anymore that it has a star wars story. I'm not a big fan of Dark Forces 1 (Doom clone), but I liked that one a bit more.

Fallen Order looks like more my thing...
Since someone else bumped this I'll mention that EA reported it sold 8 million copies already, much more than they expected. Whatever you think of the game, I think this is a great thing since it's singleplayer and has no microtransactions.

Weren't they also the very same who proclaimed that singleplayer games were dead? To their surprise there's actually money to be made if you make non-shite games. Imagine that.

Everyone was quite suprised that EA made something that was worth playing and didn’t require an open blood vessel. Next up flying pink unicorns!
