Mr.Mumbles: From what I've been reading the game kind of falls apart after the first few hours with tedious saminess and repetition for the rest of the game. Yeeeeah, that doesn't sound very appealing to me.
I know the Eurogamer review said that, but a lot of other reviews praised it. Doubt many actual people are far enough in to say one way or the other. I'm not. However I will say it's so much like Dark Souls mixed with Prince of Persia, you can likely guess which way you'd feel on that subject by remembering how you felt about those games.
Just wondering, anyone that is familiar with Origin/EA Access...how long does it normally take for EA's new games to get added to the service (the regular subscription, not the more expensive version)?

StingingVelvet: This came out today. Don't usually start threads for new games here, but thought since it's Star Wars people might want to discuss it.

So far I am surprised by how "Dark Souls" it is.
Thanks for the warning. That means it isn't for me.

But since it isn't DRM-free it doesn't exist for me anyhow. :-)

It should be on the premier tier now. The Basic Tier can be random depending on how well the game sells maybe within 6 months or so

Which is why I'd say the a year's worth of the basic tier is still far better value than paying for premier, since everybody knows all of their games will pop up their eventually. Paying extra due to FOMO is just not worth it.

Sarafan: But I'm still waiting for KOTOR3. EA has the license, has the money and has BioWare.
You can forget about BioWare. All the people who made Baldur's Gate, KotOR, Dragon Age and Mass Effect, left long ago. There is nothing left, except a brand name.

I don't deny that. But there's a rotation in every company. Old people leave, new people come. The problem isn't the rotation itself. Look at id Software. There's literally no one there from the old crew, but they still make great FPS games. You only need to find the appropriate people that will replace those who left.

A lot of people enjoyed Dragon Age Inquisition, and I doubt Dragon Age 4 is that different. I guess EA might force it to be an online thing, but Anthem failing and Fallen Order existing... I doubt it.

(I thought Inquisition was a lame-o offline MMO, for the record, but it was a very successful game).

ThorChild: As a Star Wars fan I think this won't be for me. I'd rather sit with the non cgi yoda on [wrong!yavin] Dagobah and feel the force betwee me and that tree and rock ;)

"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will. Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

I miss when Star Wars was actually good and stood for something more than making money.......a Long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

Nerevar.220: Dagobah. And that was just an elaborate way of saying the X-Wing could be lifted ... (amusingly, the old EU contradicted that speech very often, by authors claiming ESB being their favourite). And he was wrong about the dark side, the last act of RotS is OB1 doing wrong everything Luke did right in RotJ. Good job.

About combat. How do they justify Dark Souls combat? The mc should have lightsaber training, not the player.
Ah yes Dagobah, all i have is Doh! ;) as for the rest while ESB was the 'better' film in terms of plot twists and staging the scene for RotJ, the first film Star Wars will always be my favourite.

RotS!!?? The pre-quels were pure garbage, a total vindication of how in his own lifetime Lucas had himself 'fallen' to the darkside ;) Money had corrupted him completely by the time he tried to carry on his amazing opening trilogy. And don't even get me started on the puke that Disney now labels 'Star Wars'. RIP Star Wars.

Star Wars is just three films, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Everything else has been Anti-Star Wars. And the games have suffered pretty much in the same way sadly, a few early diamonds, then lots and lots of trash.
Don't plan to get the game (tend to not by AAA games that much but curious about story, but checked out the cutscene "movie" put together on youtube. Looks like there is a story of sorts. Lots of walk around, hanging off ledges moving up down along, lot of squeezing between walls to get to new rooms, sliding downwards to new areas (seems a lot of repetitive actions) etc.Use of force powers (looks pretty limited though). Most of the time your swinging around lightsaber (didnt see any gunplay at all) in fights.

It's Dark Souls combat mixed with some Tomb Raider, yes. The story is decent but as it should be with games it's more about giving context to gameplay and exploration, which are very good.

And all the mentioned games were meh at best in the first place.

Really? Than what is your best example of story-driven RPG?
I'd rather have another Jedi Knight game. Fallen Order looks very simplified and automated compared to the combat systems in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.
The character you play as looks so damn generic and bland. is the game any good to compensate for that thing?
