Good.
This Easter let's make people disbelievers. ;)
Visit my dad, and I guess play a video game or two.
I'm one of the few religious people in this place, and even I'm not doing anything. I don't think this is a holiday that people make a very big deal out of unless you're a kid or in some Catholic European country.

Well, I was a kid once. My mother was also raised as a Catholic. What resulted was a several hour quest for a sugar-high and deviled eggs.

Having celebrated Easter as a child, I never knew that meat was to be avoided on Good Friday. But as a "kid" then, my view of Easter was a bit skewed --somewhat disturbing since now I remember other holidays my family celebrated which probably no longer resemble their true meaning.
I used to be a believer (in God that is, not in 'resurrection') and even after I lost my faith, I sometimes watched Jesus Christ Superstar on Easter. But now I realised not only have I watched that movie too much, I don't have anything with Jesus either, besides - like him - trying to save the world. Sometimes I wonder if it's a leftover from a christian upbringing, not wanting to rest until the whole world is just, free of poverty and polution.

In bibliodrama, in which a story from the bible is told and you are asked what character from the story you identify yourself with, it feels natural for me to identify with Jesus himself, while everyone else was surprised I did that and idenitified with the minor characters. But if you want to follow Christ, it means bringing justice to the world and trying to save it like he did, I think. In that sense, maybe I'm still a Christian. A friend of mine who believes in God thinks my mentality to put other's wellbeing first is very Christian. To me, it's just who I am.

Yeah, that's basically my point. The original meaning of it, like so many other holidays, was pretty much blown out of the water after entrepreneurs realized that it was marketable. There's no real way to hold a "celebration" per say, short of going to mass or otherwise holding some sort of Bible study covering it. The Catholics likely have some sort of ritual or prayer, but this isn't really so common with the Christians.
For me, I guess it's just more of a personal remembrance.

Well, I guess that explains the meaning behind the Charlie Brown cartoons where "commercialism" seems to ruin everything. To be honest, I wouldn't even consider myself a Christian only because I've not done anything religiously in quite some time other than shower, shave, get dressed and go to work.

However, there are still the things my parents did for me when I was a child which helped ease the pain of "growing up" and allowed me to enjoy those younger years. After graduating from college though, I was another piece of meat for the grinder. :)
Being away from family, I think I will paint a few eggs good old way with plants and onion skins. It's something I enjoy.

And then I shall either play Kingdoms of Amalur to isolate myself from crazy (not my) neighbors. Or do some a few programming tasks that I have pending.

Nothing major in other words.
Honouring Ēostre by avoiding the christian and post-christian deformations of this day.

I might order a pizza but I don't know what kind....Any suggestions?
Oh, yesterday I had a (accoustic) band rehearsal, the neighbor got a hissy fit because in Germany, Karfreitag/Good Friday is a day of rest (quiet) and even has nationwide ban on dancing (yes, really).
Dancing anywhere on Good Friday is considered the same as dancing on cemeteries in Germany although most people here are secular by now (not the leading caste though). Making music is breaking the law too at any time of the day.
