The future is a scary place but one rife with opportunities for daring spacefarers. As the universe realigns itself, preparing for the upcoming changes looming on the horizon, our young protagonist and his female ally will set out seeking adventure aboard their ramshackle spaceship, unaware of the deep impact they will have on the events already set in motion.

After a rocky release, it has come a long way and now X-Rebirth: Home of Light opens up the universe even further, bringing new missions, new enemies, and new weapons with which to conquer them. The Complete Edition also features the Teladi Outpost DLC, where you get to venture into a dangerous station teeming with smugglers, pirates and other space troublemakers, that will help or hinder you on your way to master the endless galaxy.

Ah for heck's sake, I bought too hastily. I didn't realize GOG opted to sell both the base version, and a complete version, side by side. So of course I accidentally bought only the base game, when I meant to buy the whole package. I didn't notice that until now, as I was wondering why the complete version was not marked as owned.

At least there is an upgrade pack to upgrade to the complete edition, but that ends up costing me 6€ more than if I had bought the complete version to begin with. Yeah and I had already downloaded the base version, so I am not eligible for a refund either.

That's something I don't quite understand, with some other games too. Since GOG doesn't release the game until the complete edition is available, why do they choose to sell also the base game separately? Somehow I have hard time believing someone would choose to buy only the base version, without the gaming-content expansions.

Oh well, have to be more careful in the future. 6€ is the price of pint of beer here, so GOG owes me a beer.

EDIT: I think I'll try to get a refund anyway because I am going to buy the complete edition anyway. It is the principle that matters.

As you said, get a refund. I happened to do the same with Cities in Motion, but at the end the difference there was smaller so I simply got the upgrade afterwards. Still It's annoying...
Isn't it weird that they're calling this a complete edition though?
What if they release another DLC, rename it?

There are precedents... See Paradox and Europa Universalis III Complete. But in this case probably they don't plan any paid DLCs, but a new game or some stand-alone DLC like Albion Prelude.

GOG is cool as always, they refunded the game to me as store credit. :) (and removed the base game from my account of course)

On the flipside, it seems I just missed the X Rebirth promo in order to buy the complete version, so I think I need to wait for awhile to get it... :( As much as I like to try the game, 49.99€ is a tad too high a price for that. Wasn't it still on sale earlier today?

It was, I wanted to buy Mushroom 11 which was part of the Jesse Cox promo. The promo was still ongoing but Mushroom 11 wasn't on sale anymore. :(
