ReynardFox: You didn't screw up the Witcher 2 or Hotline Miami 2 for everyone else because of Australia, so I want an answer: Why you are forcing censorship on everyone with this game?
The comparison here doesn't work. Those games had issues because of laws in Australia. This game can be legally sold uncensored in the US, as is done on Humble. The decision to sell the censored version (which is the same version Steam sells) had nothing to do with US law. GOG simply didn't want to sell the uncensored version here. Originally, they had rejected the game entirely.

Please point me to where a blue has officially stated this.

You sure about that? You might want to check the Linux version again...

I don't know that such a post exists, but I don't see why it would be necessary. It's a known fact that the uncensored version can be legally sold in the US. The Humble version is proof of that. Unless the devs for some reason forbid GOG from selling the uncensored version here, the choice was entirely in GOG's hands.

If you meant the part about them originally rejecting the game, I looked into that and I may have been mistaken. The game is here "thanks in large part to community support" but that doesn't mean it was ever officially rejected. It definitely sounds like GOG was originally planning to pass on it though. Either way, this doesn't change the fact that GOG only selling the censored version was entirely up to them.

EDIT: Okay, GOG did in fact reject the game previously, but the reason given was that they thought it was a visual novel.

I can think of a few reasons it might be a bad idea to have naked girls bouncing around here, keeping Gog somewhat family safe-ish for kids and mums and stuff running right into that accidentally. Seems like somewhat of a bad business decision to have adult X rated content floating around.

Violent videogames are somewhat obvious to stay away from, a bit of blood in screenshots doesn't immediately offend.

To call this a censored VERSION is really a misnomer. There is only 1 version of the game, CENSOR ON/OFF is literally just a "hidden" game config option. Uncensored mode is enabled by making a blank text file in the game directory named "huniepop_uncensored_patch.game".

GOG has been selling Leisure Suit Larry for a while now...

This doesn't really excuse selling a "deluxe edition' upgrade that's predominantly an art collection, and then giving us an incomplete set.

First thing that popped into my mind was Phantasmagoria, actually. I guess LSL is so cartoony, I didn't really consider it porn.

Then again, if you get those age verification questions wrong, it self censors itself. I played at least a third of the game before I figured that out. There were lots of missing graphics and dialog. Then again, had to keep it tame enough that my father would want to A) have me turn it off and/or B) take over for me. And at least one of them was a trick question. Most of them are just 60s and 70s pop trivia. And they are multiple-guess type questions, just from a pool and in a random order. About 10 starts would be enough see all the questions at least once.

And I'm completely un shocked and offended by Leisure Suit Larry...
The game itself is uncensored anyway. The devs say you can get the uncensored CG's directly from them, you can probably get the 12 uncensored jpg's or w/e from google image search too.

No, the version sold on GOG is censored. It doesn't matter that it can be uncensored easily.

And IMO the censored art collection sold on GOG is worthless. It's pointless to buy it if i have to get the uncensored pics from the developers site. If i buy something i want the complete package.

It was the developers decision to do that, that's how they are selling stuff on all other stores such as Steam, Humble, etc. they said so on Steam forums themselves. I recall running into one of their posts on Steam forum which said that you could send a proof of purchase (of deluxe edition upgrade) and that they would send you the uncensored version. Unfortunately I can't seem to find that now.
