ReynardFox: But why does everyone have to suffer because of one country's rules? It feels like a middle finger. It'd be like GOG selling a neutered version of Hotline Miami 2 worldwide just so it won't be unsellable to me in Australia.
Said countries who deserve a punt in the something that rhymes with punt* are also fully capable of punting right back with legal repercussions.

A question - has anyone else experienced problems trying to purchase this game? I grabbed two other titles with no problem, but when it came to this one, I started getting transaction errors from GOG. Curious about whether or not it's more widespread.

MarkoH01: But they don't have any problems in selling games in which you use a chainsaw to cut several people in halfs - yep, totally understandable ;)

Sorry, it's HuniePop for Germans and Quake 3 for Americans.
You have to choose between violence and sex. ;)

GOG gave only us a censored version the Witcher 2. Why can't they deliver the censored version only where it applies?

Scored it, and thanks for daring to break the mold and add a game like this here :)

I already have the uncensored version. I bought this for support!

Maybe we could see some visual novels from Japan, like Clannad or Grisaia, or others by Sekai Project as an example.

Well, perhaps its a bottom covering technique. I don't know, ask someone in blue text.
avatar
Klumpen0815: I don't understand why it's the censored version. Any reasons?
avatar
Darvond: The short of it: Blame Germany.
No. Like Klumpen said, nudity is not a problem in Germany.

E.g. Tatort, a police procedural television series, which is telecasted Sundays at prime time has episodes that contain lesbian and BDSM sex scenes. I think that would be a problem in the USA.

Edit.:

avatar
Klumpen0815: Only when it's about violence, when it's about the censoring of nude girls we can mostly blame the USA.
avatar
Darvond: The blaming of Germany was fully intended as friendly ribbing.
Sorry. I've read this after I've written the previous post...

THIS!
Why different standards for the US and the rest of the world, GOG?

BTW: I just asked the devs why it is censored here and if it was their idea. If I get an answer I will post it.

HiPhish: I have heard about this game, question is: is it actually a good game or is it just a funny game. What I mean is, if you stripped out all the boobs and reduced it just to match-3 would it still be worth playing? Nothing against boobs, but if I just wanted porn there are better ways to get it.
Yes, you could remove all the sex and the game would still be a very fun match-3 title. The big twists to the standard Bejeweled type gameplay are that (1) you have various items which perform certain functions (convert icons to other icons, remove all icons of a certain color, etc.) and (2) each lady has different colors that she likes which means that sometimes you need to be trying to get as many reds as possible and sometimes as many blues as possible. The hearts help you build a multiplier, the broken hearts hurt, and the bells give you more moves. The humor is great in the game, but you could remove all the adult scenes and scale back the sex factor quite a bit and it would still be really fun.

So silly. I want to believe in a better world, a world in which both sex and violence are available for any responsible adult who wants them. (Sorry, psychotic homicidal sadists. You don't get to rape and/or kill people while everyone who isn't out of their mind gets labeled by association because you played video games in between being a piece of shit.)

xa_chan: I sure hope it's the uncensored version. Not because I want everybody to become perv, but simply because the things censored on the Steam release were so minor and stupid and it made absolutely no sense...

Anyway, glad to see that game here, but won't buy it since I already bought it from the developer's website.

And it was damn good!!

I have no shame though. I love Women. Provided this does not include....rapey stuff.
There is absolutely no rapey stuff in this game. The worst that could be said is that the player's main goal is to be, well, a "player", and thus you are not going to be staying faithful to anyone. This actually never comes up in the game, however, and so there are no scenes of heartbreak or betrayal either. It is more like a bunch of stories all going on at once that barely interconnect.

It's not a fair comparison. Germans live under the constant threat of Derrick re-runs, how would they dare complaining about anything on tv ?
As promised.

I will agree with what several people have said; I wouldn't mind a slightly clearer promotion of the patch... but at least there's a stickied thread in the game's forum; better than nothing.

Lin545: You are doing it wrong again, guys. I doubt you are actually doing it for the shitstorm or for laughs, but please:
- if its not available in some country - state that
- if its censored - state that
- if its cut - state that
- if it has extras stripped due to publisher change - state that

in bold font and above everything

People tend to dislike unavailable, censored, cut and extra-less releases, but at least they will moan and not rage about it.
Nah. That would make them closer to an honest company and they cannot allow it. They worked so hard doing the wrong thing everytime there was the chance to ruin it now with transparency :)

I've never seen Derrick, but one of the scenes I was talking about was the fault of the Eidgenossen. :-)
