wolfsite: Wow, this was a quick turnaround.

Mortal Kombat 9 is probably too much to ask for due to licensing issues
Ahh yes. The joys of guest characters. Not only do they not fit in the game at all, but also create future nightmarish licensing issues.

Even worse that it's the best MK game that had to take the hit because of it :/

WB dumping their LotR titles to squeeze some out before they lose the license... Not going to complain. (Embracer bought the Tolkein film/game rights over the summer.)

Hope for Lego LOTR? It's the one that comes to mind when I am asked to pick my favorite Lego game. Some of them after got confusing hub worlds or convoluted open worlds, or even too complicated [relatively speaking] stuff. Lego LOTR was the perfect implementation of the Tt games model. The "mini-games" and stuff it had were fun and not a slog and whatnot.

Definitely the best LEGO game. It even had a DRM-free disc release.

But the problem might be, that it's technically using the movie license, while the Shadow games do not.

True. It's labeled as WB and New Line.
With this release, I think it's highly likely, that this game will be given away in form of a GOG-key in this month's Amazon Prime Gaming event.
So - people who are Prime customers...should maybe wait a few hours with the purchase...

tremere110: Will the Amazon Prime key be for the definitive edition?
It will most likely be the Standard Edition. If you look at the promotional banner for the October Prime games, plus the trailer for it, you see that they mention only "Middle-earth: Shadow of War". No "Definitive Edition" in the title there.

I think this is a way for them to get people to something on GOG too: you get the base game from Prime, and then those that want it will have to pay for the expansion pass.

I'm buying it anyways, but have prime. If you want the game I can DM you when my key comes.

Edit: It also took a few days for the key to come last time with Prime.

Not sure what happened but buying Shadow of War + Shadow of Mordor gives me extra 5% discount on SoM.
Thanks GOG!

Well, Shadow of Mordor has been delayed to September 2nd, but they may be ready on time now.

That's because the WB has a BYOB, where if have you have between 5 to 9 games from WB you get an aditional 5% discount.

Shadow of Mordor is eligible and you must certainly own at least 5 games from WB.

The Shadows games surely must be using at least some aspects of the movie license, given the fact that Shadow of Mordor features Gollum and represented in such a way that he looks and sounds exactly as he does in the movies.

No way they would have been able to do that without having licensed the character from the movies.

And just looking at screenshots there is Cate Blanchett Galadriela in Shadow of War expansions.
