RWarehall: May I suggest we follow Bookwyrm's lead on a lynch since he is the so-to-be confirmed town?
Did anyone else just experience a pretty bad flashback?

All things considered, I don't think it wise for me to try and direct all the power roles.

One thing I would like to hear from each person: if you were the deprogrammer (and I hadn't claimed DP), who would you investigate? If everyone weighs in, then every cultist and CL will have to pick someone too. So, please weigh in, everyone.

I'm certainly not suggesting you direct the Tracker as knowing who the Tracker's target is in advance means the Cult Leader can lay low and not recruit that night. But I do strongly suggest we follow your lead if that is what it takes to avoid a no-lynch. Given our difficulties on reaching a majority in most games anymore, I think throwing the ball into the hands of the most confirmed townie makes a lot of sense.

As to investigation, I'd investigate JMich as Dessimu and Drealmer will likely get themselves lynched shortly anyway. No one is showing any additional support for his lynch, but his poor advice has been so anti-Town one has to consider this might be intentional.

He's still pushing to lynch the 2nd worst possible target tomorrow, your target. Only lynching you would be a worse plan.

So, lynching your N1 target gives just 1 chance to kill the just defanged Cult Leader.

Targeting anyone else gives 1 chance to kill off a fully empowered Cult Leader and 0 to 2 chances to kill off an ordinary cultist (0 if we start without any ordinary cultists and Bookwyrm bounces the Cult leader.

Both have equal chances of targeting our power roles. It's not even close which decision is better. It's obviously better to have a chance at the home run of eliminating a full powered CL especially when you get the additional chance of hitting recruits.

JMich is normally a better player than this. I almost have to believe this was a failed gambit of some sort.

I think babarak and docbear have been playing fairly effective "low" games and I'd be interested in one of them for a nice stab in the dark shot. This is assuming of course one of my top lynch candidates is lynched.

I'd almost suggest this very thing (and almost made the same assessment of Dessimu / Drealmer when I made this post).

But I do think JMich is usually a better player and have been surprised by his actions. My guess? The gambit actually HASN'T failed. I highly doubt, based on his play that he's Cult Leader (too erratic). I DO believe that right now, he's hedging his bets. He knows a savvy cult leader will want him eventually so he's trying to make sure he can win whether he stays town OR is converted.

That's my best guess anyway. I DON'T think I'd waste an early deprogram on him... but I'd want one there eventually. Certainly by early - midgame.

I don't like the semantics tricks you've been pulling, and I think you're coming down on too many people too quickly.

I do hope that I have time to do a reread before Nightfall, though.

Well, you will look very stupid soon.

Are you going to actually read what I wrote we I flip town?
Are you going to think about how counter-productive what JMich proposes is to town?
Are you going to work out how quickly this game is a loss for town if we no-lynch?

Frankly, go ahead and lynch me at this point. Town is too stupid to win this game...

Did you even ISO Dessimu?

As a "for the moment(?)" townie, I ask you to rescind this vote. So far you seem to get it and I'd HATE for you to be lynched, especially if it's by someone just jumping in to push you over the edge after a self vote.

I get the feeling that a lot of people are playing the "long game" - and by long game I mean "I might not be townie tomorrow" - otherwise I can't see how you'd be the likely lynch candidate as you've clearly been playing a strong town game.
Thanks for the bump

Since too many people don't want to understand the mechanics of a cult game and are in denial that townies are still killed at night just because the player is still there...

Who would I investigate? Hmmm, babarak would be my first choice.

That's definitely not a townie move ): always gotta just lynch someone if they vote themselves, imo, otherwise there becomes too much doubt about things and it's hard to move forward.

I understand getting frustrated and feeling hopeless when no one sees it your way, but, you've still got to do what you think is best for town. Also, realize, if we don't no-lynch, 1/12 has to die, sometimes you just get the D1 slot (not that you even have yet though!), and you've got to be okay with that, seeing as how you definitely think lynchingon D1 is a must, you've got to be okay with it being you, to a degree, anyway.

Despite JMich's not-so-great ideas, at least he's trying to pose something that he thinks is helpful (even if it is not), and it's not like he's subversively trying to lead us down a path of destruction or forcibly pushing any agendas, even if he is the CL, his proposals are of no actual threat, as I see them, and so mostly disregard it all.

While you are here, mind answering a question for me?

Assume you are the DP (and I hadn't claimed), then who would you visit tonight?

One of the quieter ones: flubbucket, babark, cristigale.

I'm not very good at hypotheticals like that, and probably wouldn't be decided until the night actually came and the day results were reflected upon a bit. Ehhh, maybe someone more lurky like flub or agent, maybe JMich or RW or cristi, maybe even fantasysci5, I don't really know.
