EndreWhiteMane: Would everyone please +1 our lovely Valkyrie Moon until her rep pops?
She has just gifted me MOO3 since she saw I wanted it badly.
Talk about a super ninja, what a great surprise! :-)
That's really great - I'm on my way :)

avatar
AgentBirdnest: Ah yes, tech trees... I'd print those out if there was only a digital manual. Pretty useful :-)
I miss the gimmicks and backstories, though... like "this tank was developed by GDI in 2026 by Dr. Mobius... " or whatever it might say :-p
I really liked those bits - it was really immersive in a way...

That's great too :) , but who is she?
avatar
ne_zavarj: Desura ?
avatar
Stilton: I haven't kept up to speed on Desura - I don't/didn't use them. I've heard they're gone and then that they're just 'restructuring.' Time will tell, but a whole hell of a lot of people must be using their bandwidth to the max right now...
I was rather shocked that I downloaded my whole Desura library (94 games) in just a few hours yesterday.
The speed was way better than GOG is at the moment. Kinda weird really.
avatar
Stilton: I'd like to see a picture of that if you can get one to work (no, really). Remember we talked about how much of each game's 'goodies' we download? I've been resolutely set on manuals and essential files only, but the further I get and the more files I decline I'm thinking of maybe topping up some favourite titles with the whole package. Some of it looks pretty good. So bang goes a Tuesday completeion. Well, I might think a bit more on that one.
All right, I think it'll post this time. If it comes out on your end how it looks to me, it won't be the greatest for in-depth viewing, but you should be able to get the general idea.
I'm not exactly skilled with picture manipulation...

Understandable, just resist the urge once you do that for a few to go back and do it for everything.
That will add days if not weeks of time, along with gigabytes of space usage.

Hmm. Fiddled around with the settings and managed to get a clearer picture. Just reposted it.

They many allowed some space to their servers so players can get their whole library in no time!

I'm going to pop her with +1's

I remember one of the first PC games that I bought for myself was Tiberian Sun. I read through the entire manual twice before actually playing it. Knowing my units' history made me slightly more personally attached to them. It made me more careful about losing them...
Sometimes it is those little things that really make a game special for me :-)

PalioDeMonte: Wow, this is gonna be some hard day to resist. Already spent €10 in the first 10 minutes...

Btw, does anybody know what's on moon's wishlist?
avatar
moonshineshadow: Ah sorry, my wishlist is set to friends only. I set that up in a hurry because dd was pressuring me before my holidays. Seems like I forgot to sent you a friend request. Sorry :-)

But don't take that as invitation to go on a gifting spree :P
No problem :D

I don't know if it will happen sooner or later to gift. But I usually gift games I have some emotional connection with. And as your wishlist is quite small at the moment, I might not find anything that feels right to me. It's the same with DD, btw - another person I would love to find the right gift for, but whose wishlist doesn't show me anything I feel connected to...

But it's good to here that you're ejoying your trip. Didn't read the whole thread, though. Where are you about to go next?

I printed my library pages and put an 'x' through the ones that were done.
Your system would have broken my brain. :-)

When it comes to ninja abilities, she is quite skillful.

Also, done. =)

Just tried your pic and got the frigging bear with the giant blue boil on its back. Its always amused/irritated me that GOG say I'm seeing the little dick because they're being 'overwhelmed with popularity' or some crap. No mention of them not making any provision for dealing with the spinning whirlpool of overload they've invited us all into.
avatar
ElTerprise: Well i thought about the Port Royale games and i must admit i didn't know were here on GOG. But there some Ascaron here after all. Even after they went bust (oh i miss their soccer management simulations)
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: The Port Royale games are a steal at this price. No one ever agrees which is the better of the 2 but I rather like them both.
I got the first port royale with a Sunday newspaper.
I never could quite get into it. It felt too much like a trading and shipping simulator, which is basically what it is. I remember looking at the trading goods chart, trying to speculate with the price of sugar canes, when I suddenly asked myself why I was playing this.

With a newspaper?! Wow!
